They call it train surfing. It’s a real practice on railways around the world, but can also occur by jumping onto a moving ride vehicle at an amusement park. It is grounds for termination, as one of my co-workers found out at Boo Blasters.

The only time I've heard of a park operator encouraging it was for training ops on getting on and off a moving carousel safely - I want to think it was at CP but I'm not 100% on that.

Oh Kennywood. The amount of times I’ve seen employees ride the coasters into and out of the station is sad.

Pretty much the only park you'd still see train surfing at. Everywhere else it's heavily frowned upon or not possible.
Or smaller (older) parks like Idlewild or Conneaut Lake

afaik Idlewild changed their training procedures after the kid got ejected and they put the new trains on.

Conneaut also can't really do it on Blue Streak since the ride has been closed for 2 years.
