How is the roller coaster insider tour? How about the Quick Que?

Those two devices are the only ones I am considering for my visit. I am wondering what they cost and how they work.

Is the RCI tour worth the money? how does it work?
Also, for the Quick Que, is it like the Six Flags Flash Pass where you get to go on the best rides as many times as you want?

Thanks

Yes! The coaster tour is awesome! I have been twice... It is so cool looking over the park at about 9:30 am while on top of griffon... One thing you should know is that busch requires you to buy 2 tickets for the tours... One of my friends used to be a tour guide and once they had only one person (and no one else) on the tour... With 2 guides... After that, they require that you must buy 2 tours... The last time I went I brought my friend and that was even more fun! Here is the review of the tour on good morning america: abcnews.go.com/GMA/t/story?id=8271013&page=1
As for quick queue, I have never used it, but sometimes it is worth it, and sometimes it is not... if there is no one in the park, or the park is at capacity and almost everyone got QQ (QQ is sometimes longer than the actual line), it is not worth it, but if the park is full, long lines, and not too many people bought QQ... The best thing to do is buy QQ at the park after you see the lines for both... QQ can be bought at a few gift stores, including the store beside Apollo (this is the best place to get QQ because it is very close to one of Busch's most popular rides) I hope this helps

It helps alot. I'm greatly considering both, I am curious about the format for each though.
For the RCI tour, if the park opens at 10, and the website says check in is at 8:15, then is the tour over by park opening? Do you miss any valuable ride time?
It also says with the RCI tour you get a "front of the line coaster pass to use later in the day to bypass the crowds." Is this the Quick Que?

As for the QQ, is it cheap so thats why a lot of people get it? There are 2 entrances to most rides: a regular and a QQ? Can you use the QQ unlimited times?

Thanks for any feedback. I don't mean to be a pest by asking a lot of questions but I have never been before and I want to get the most out of my upcoming trip as possible. Thanks!

The tour ends around 11, but you get to ride each coaster twice before the park opens, so you still get to ride during the tour... The pass they give you is a smaller QQ... It just goes to the 4 (now 5) coasters... Now there are 2types of QQ... One time use and unlimited use... I would recomend geting the unlimited one (on low QQ days, some times the ride ops allow you to ride twice without getting off if no one is wating for QQ when you get back... I am glad you are preparing to come visit us

Take the Rollercoaster Insider tour. It's quite simply the best money I've ever spent at the park.

Thanks everyone. I wish they would give you the normal QQ after the tour instead of the smaller QQ because the normal gives you some thrill rides and water rides in addition to the coasters, but the small only gives you the coasters. As for the two types of QQ, I would get the unlimited one. Does this mean it would be a good idea to get the normal QQ after the tour or just rely on the smaller one they give you?

One more question: are there signs at the entrance to rides that say what the wait time is for the regular line and for the QQ line so you know which line to get into?

i would say, wait until you can see how busy of a day it is on your tour day and then decide if QQ is worth it...back when i went on the tour, they gave me a card that said it was good for whatever row on the coaster i wanted (i wen front on griffon, LNM, and alpie and back on apollo) but from what i hear, they don't do that anymore

to answer your last question, on griffon they do, but i would recomend the busch gardens iphone app if you have an iphone or a 3g enabled ipad (if you have an android phone, you should check when the park opens in march to see if they have an android version)... in the app they have the approximate wait time for the regular lines

here is the video of the segment from gma (it actualy aired the day i took my first tour there)

Well you won't regret it... Just have someone else go on the tour with you because Busch requires you to buy at least 2 tours

yea, Roller coaster insider was probably my favorite tour. I got to go twice, but only because the wrote over my pictures the first time.
