That dragon on top of what I'm assuming is Gringotts looks very promising. Imagine THAT staring down at you as you walk up to the ride. I can totally see that being an awesome centerpiece to the area.

What's interesting is if the dragon is in fact apart of Gringotts, then this area is using elements from the final book/movie; which I guess makes sense since it's the latter half of the expansion.

Phase 1 is set around book 3 or 4, so phase 2 set at the 7th book would be cool. Harry, Ron, and Hermione wanted posters would be a cool touch. Along with the Gringotts coaster correlating with the events that happen their in the 7th book.

Screamscape posted some info on Ollivanders stating there would be one in each park and it pretty much sums up what I've been saying...

"One thing I’ve had readers ask me questions about is Ollivander’s wand shop and I’ll share what I know. Since Diagon Alley is being built here… we will see a new Ollivander’s wand shop built here as well as it is the true location of the shop in the books. This will not cause the closure of the other Ollivander’s shop in Hogsmeade which was officially confirmed as a local “annex” of the shop to be closer to Hogwarts. Given that the longest lines in all of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter are typically for the existing Ollivander’s, a second version was needed anyway, plus there will always be a number of guests who may only have time to visit only one of the Universal parks and not both, so this will give everyone the chance to experience it.

You can count on some design changes to take place in the Diagon Alley location however. Screamscape sources tell us that the Diagon Alley version will be set up to secretly have more than one “showroom” to greatly increase capacity. I’m not sure of the final design but I’ve heard it may have anywhere from 2 to 4 identical showrooms."

I'm interested to see if there will be any reference/homage to JAWS considering the park's reputation for nodding to former beloved rides in other attractions. Maybe a wanted sign for the shark (y'know, like in the movie, but Potter-style)?

Uni is doing it right. WOW.

I agree that was a great ad, one that your mother sees and gets teary eyed, and really touches people's hearts. Not like BGW's wear they are trying to say that nothing good can come out of technology, so come out to our park that you're "born" for.(I really hated all of BGW's ad campaigns this year) But yes this is a commercial that really touches you're heart, it makes me want to support the park more, because they try to point out that they are a family park. And coming from a fan's point of view you really want to say "that's the park I support." Unlike BGW where I would be more embarrassed that they're commercial was the best they could do.(end of rant)

I would say it tugs on a father's heart strings more than a mother's. You know, a "daddy's little girl" type thing.

Had the opportunity to go up in the air on a chartered helicopter yesterday over the site. You can see some of the pictures from that tour over at Pixels at the Parks.

Universal has become my favorite theme park resort by far. Atm the studios is lacking but once this opens then both parks are full day parks easily.

Hopefully I can take a trip down next summer, this looks awesome
