Mike Tomlin Kennywood makes responsible choices with $100k $9 million:

Snark aside, I want everything Kennywood does to be a success. All power to them, hope it works out.
It’s ok we can’t be all rats of the sky.

Ok snark over.

But yea. I got some friends calling S&S’s DrachenFire moment. I would bet that they find a way to fix it with outside help. The structure and footers are basically rattling themselves apart without proper literal bracing. I know a lot of people are looking back at the RMC, but from what I know RMC came to them and it was just way too expensive. Especially since it would have gotten too close to Duquesne Blvd. However…Kennywood is still not locked out from that and I wouldn’t be shocked if the come back to a plan like that.

Seems like we're getting new footers. Can't wait to see one of the most ridiculous looking coasters in the world be modified to look even wackier!

(Not sarcasm, I love its uniquely unhinged appearance.)

Throughout the season, our team has been hard at work toward the reopening of the Steel Curtain in 2025.

When you visit the park this weekend, you will notice we have begun the next phase of work on this project, which includes adding additional columns to the structure. These enhancements and others will increase the coaster’s reliability and longevity, maintaining it for generations of riders to come.

We are excited to continue progress on the coaster over the next several months and we can’t wait to welcome riders back to the Steel Curtain in 2025.
