First, no. The have very deep buckets. I really liked the seats and restraints, actually. I found both to be very comfortable. One odd thing about the restraints, though: they do not tighten on the lift hill. Wherever you set them in the station is where they remain for the ride.

Thx! That's good to hear with the deep buckets.

About the rude spelling error: I am so sorry! My only excuse is pure exhaustion:

29 June: drive to Florida
30 July: Beach
1-2 July: Uni
3-4 July: Beach
5-6 July: SeaWorld, Margaritaville, and Island H2O Live
7-8 July: Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon
9 July: Beach
10 July: Drive to Arlington
11 July: Drive to Pittsburgh
12 July: Kennywood (starting at 5am) and drive to Arlington
13 July: Pack 26 ft moving truck
14 July: Move to Virginia Beach and unpack

Don't worry about it. Like I said, I felt it was an honest mistake. Also...that's some road warrior stuff there!!! Good luck with the move!

Is it safe for the restraint to not tighten on the lift hill? What if it's not as tight as it should be when the train is sent of? You just hold on for dear life? Maybe I don't understand what you mean.

Reverse ratchet that fully prevents movement of the restraint. Not explicitly needed for safety but it definitely does wonders for those who like comfortable rides without putting up to risk how far a restraint can occupy itself in their colon.

Whatever happened to the good 'ol days of putting your arms covertly under the restraint as the all-too-quick ride operators went by to check that they were locked... leaving way too much foolish teenager space to float around in (and out of) your seat during the ride? Maybe that was just me.

my friends and I used compete to see who could get the most room in their restraint... But this was also when the only 2 coasters at BGW were Nessie and BBW. In retrospect.... I was a great deal thinner in those days.

If you want a textbook definition for a charming park, Kennywood would likely be the second visual example in the book behind Knoebels.

S&S does a great job looking out for the parks especially when issues become present, so I expect the ride not to be down for too long.

Screamscape is reporting Steel Curtain is down for the year. Huge bummer I was trying to go before October ended but I’m personally very tired of looking at closed awesome new coasters at parks.

Not sure why the embedded is not working

And realized that S&S has this crazy "contraption" for the restraint release, then realized that it is also on the Steel Curtain trains (as well as S&S coasters).

Steel Curtain can be seen at the 5:10 mark of this video.

I'm sure it is unrelated, but I know Steel Curtain has numerous issues and makes me wonder why S&S thought this crazy restraint release contraption was necessary. Other manufactures have certainly created simpler methods for a restraint release.

Ride was down for me in June 2022 last year. This year it went down 3 days before I make my 2nd attempt. I guess I was ambitious trying to ride Lightning Rod and this in the same week.

Well, one week is now the record for “most continuous uptime in one season” for this ride.

Was really hoping we would see more of these S&S hyper coasters but they certainly are not making a great impression with the reliability here. And its not even one of their air launch coasters!

Thought it was ambitious I tried to get this and Lightning Rod in the same week. I should have asked for bets on here before going for which one I was more likely to get. Result: 2 rides on Lightning Rod, 1 day where it was entirely down, 2 attempts at Steel Curtain now big ole goose egg (well except for riding Phantoms Revenge to death on my initial visit).
