Can anyone explain why Timbuktu was removed? France has forced child labor camps and unfair trade of natural resources in the country since colonial rule ended. Mali has also been forced to used the "CFA Franc" as their tender, like all Francaphone countries, thereby negating any financial solitude for the nation. At least 50% of Mali's funds must be stored in bank of Paris. When the people rise up against this corruption, western powers such as US and France fund rebel militias (some of which directly related to ISIS) to overthrow the junta. BGTs respone is paint over Timbuktu??? While keeping the Stanleyville name and theming, even though he helped massacre 12 million, over half the Congolese population????

I dunno, theme parks gonna theme park, dude?
Realistically, it'd be hard to make decisions on having any country/nation related theme as there are practically no nations without some kind of bloody history/current issues.
FWIW Ireland politics has stabilized but the Troubles were a thing, Germany... Well, center of two world wars is pretty bad, British colonialism and the monarchy's historical treatment of citizens at home hasn't been known to be sunshine and rainbows, etc etc. Africa as a whole has an extremely bloody and messy history though certain nations are less involved than others.
But, you either travel to the places or watch enough shows like Anthony Bourdain and you'll generally see most of the everyday going-ons are ok.

I just dont understand how Stanleyville is allowed. Most brutal slave owner of all time. Forced the Congolese to build a railroad spanning across the nation, which was borderline impossible. Required Congolese to mine rubber, but only from the top of the trees, so not to kill the tree. The people then had to lather their skin with the rubber sap, and tear it off. For every 100 slaves, a hand was chopped off. It is so very sad that most who visit BGT, I'd argue even the park president, don't know about the 12 million people Henry Morton Stanley killed. My solution? Give the whole western side of the park a rich Congo theme. You can't compare genocide, but the fact that most don't know about this, when Henry Morton Stanley killed twice as many Congolese as Hitler killed Jews, idk its upsetting.
