According to the latest Coliwood video, Toro is probably closed for the season. Queue-times is showing Toro has been closed since noon Sunday, but is questionable since it shows Zum and Cyborg open, also RMT and Medusa closed at noon today. I noticed when at the park that the in-park signs appeared closer and different than the app which queue-times mirrors, although still think q-t still had openings and closings right. Anyone know?

That chalk marker in the station didn't last long with all of the riders excitedly stomping by, and it was barely discernable by mid afternoon unless it was pointed out.

The speakers in the queue have also been removed. That'll be more noticable over the weekend, since most of my rides today involved proceeding straight into the station - the only time the line got long was when the teal train was taken off the track for maintenance and only the orange train was running. Two train ops were back after an hour or so.

For the 60 minute period around 5:00, the ops team dispatched 50 trains with 869 riders.

Nobody working the ride attempted to hide or play coy about this being Ka's final operating weekend. One employee changed his nametag out for one that said "King."

Aside from getting the teal train off and back onto the track, there were very few operational pauses, maybe two at 15 minutes each. The mechanics were working their tails off with the rinsing and resetting of the hydraulic launch mechanism.

The park stores have been all but picked clean Kingda Ka merchandise. Remaining are a few varieties of tumblers/mugs, some 2XL - 3XL tee shirts, and a small stack of iron-on patches. The nanocoaster restock they had in September didn't make it through Fright Fest.

El Toro is most likely done for the season - all of the pathways leading to it were closed off today (not just ropes or garbage cans - fences and planters).

Unfortunately, the app has given false positives several times for Zumanjaro being open. I actually bought into it today, thinking they might want to go all out with the entire tower presumably coming down soon. Alas...

When was Zum last open?

The last time I know of was in June, when most/all of the Intamin Prefab Woodies were closed by manufacturer mandate (including El Toro, which probably played a role in the decision to open Zum). The last picture I have from its path on my camera roll is from June 16th.

How about Green Lantern?

^I didn't notice many changes on Green Lantern's end, pretty much status quo from what I saw in the parking lot and by the queue entrance. I can't really speak for the station since I spent my entire day at Kingda Ka.

Aside from the usual generic DC superhero shirts, there are still some Green Lantern nanocoaster models floating around in the stores on Main Street.

The Boardwalk area now advertises a "Buzz Pass" with rewards for playing the games there. Given the noted expiry date in 1/2025, I wouldn't be surprised to see that area (and possibly Green Lantern) open for Holiday In The Park this year.

Maybe the rumors of KK closing is some sort of marketing psyop?

I was at the park yesterday and I did noticed orange tags staked into the ground under the track in KK's station. I couldn't read what was printed on them. KK was the only ride open in the north end of the park. The in park safari station, Medusa, El Toro, and Mine Train were closed off.

if they going to do something with kingda ka, I like to see a upgrade of it, maybe going with the creator of the roller coaster original plans for a makeover of top thrill dragster from cedar point that was way too big (heck, remove green lantern and make the ride feels like the falcon flight ride from saudi arabia)

You just wake up from a 3 month coma? It’s closing for good, get with the times

I hope they keep the Golden Kingdom theming in place, or put a lot of effort into the theming if they are doing a new theme. Golden Kingdom and Plaza De Carnaval are two of the best themed areas of the park, so it would stink to lose the theming for a more generic look. I know legacy Cedar Fair has focused a bit more on theming their new ride areas recently.

I, too, want to see Golden Kingdom live on. Jungle themes aren't the most original or anything in the theme park space, but amongst regional more amusement-focused parks, they're far from common and they really do offer an excellent vibe when done well. Golden Kingdom definitely needs work (and new attractions pretty soon now), but the bones are good, the theme and branding carries weight, and I hope to see it revitalized and improved in the years ahead.

Hopefully Cedar Fair execs can take some of what they've learned from Jungle X-Pedition at Kings Dominion and apply that?
