Disney tried some innovative ways to minimize or reduce wait times in opening Galaxy's Edge.

Could this be the wave of the future when opening large attractions?

For Disney and Universal yes. For any other amusement park in the US no.

I agree. Although I could see an abbreviated variation for the addition of a major attraction at some of the larger regional parks. However, as money grubbing as some companies are, I could see it being ”pay X$ for an ERT reservation".

Or like at BGW and WCUSA where they had ERT for members.
