Man, I know they can't just keep that plot of land empty forever, but it's wild to think of something new coming to this park.

If this is Wooden Warrior or similar it appears I’m due for a trip to Great Escape.
I think I spoke too soon! If this does turn out to be a Gravity Group project (fingers crossed!) then that could mean big things for Six Flags.

It's definitely short, but it's hard to complain about a new family woodie at Great Escape. Love to see the investment and this seems perfect for Great Escape's target demographic.
Yup now I have my Great Escape visit excuse.....for myself and finance reasons. I rode Wooden Warrior 8 times Saturday morning.
I will be here DAY FUCKING ONE for this if it is after I get out of school, since I’m going into my senior year, I get out a month early. If it’s in late may I can probably do opening day

It boggles my mind that Six Flags consistently makes these announcements without any sort of planning approval. From what I understand, there has been a lot of disapproval in the community regarding noise from the park—specifically the now-defunct Alpine Bobsleds—and now Six Flags wants to build a woodie in the same spot.
I hope this approval process goes off without a hitch, but this is not how parks should handle development of new projects. It's reckless and presumptuous at best.

However the zoning was done in Glens Falls/Queensbury area needs to be called out. That’s just an absolute abomination that fucks over both the park and residents.
The park was built in 1954. As far as I can tell that neighborhood behind it wasn’t built until the early 2000’s. Meaning the park was there for 50 (!) years before the park.
Planners that did that zoning shouldn’t have jobs. Putting the low density residential zoning next to commercial-outdoor entertainment is reprehensible IMO.
There’s little that upsets me, but doing that then using it to possibly deny evolution and growth for the park deserves to be called out.
I just listened to the audio recording of the Planning Board meeting on the Queensbury website. The project was approved and there was no public opposition.
Goodness. Is Six Flags really planning to put in this much work around Bobcat? From the entry sign to the rockwork to the station, this rendering looks great...
