In an evil plot to create more work for @BGW Family, I'm creating a thread for The Beaten Path too.

This... area... like Harvest Hollow after it, blurred the lines between a house and a scarezone. Guests followed a one-way path through the attraction like a traditional house but the path was really just a park path decorated with some props and surrounded by fog and scare actors like a scarezone. Regardless of its technical designation, the important thing here is that I have pictures to share!

All of these The Beaten Path photos were posted to Photobucket by a user who goes by the name "koreacali." Reportedly they were all taken on 2007. Massive thanks to koreacali for taking and uploading these. I'm mirroring them below in case something happens to the original source.

I think @VonDerrick is referring to how some of the characters ended up in Beaten Path.

I have noticed in that area when multiple houses are back there that you often see actors outside of there house since there isn't a backstage area for them to leave through like there is with a lot of other houses. Like when Hunted was back there along with another house (I forgot which) walking between the two I would see werewolves walking either to or from Hunted, shift change or something. I guess when the Beaten Path was there as well these "commuting" scare actors would kinda play a part in the path for a little while they go through

Ludwig, the frog appeared in The Beaten Path as well as Festhaus Fright Night. He is the green guy in those photos.

@Zachary @Connor @Ice729

I may have been referring to Never After, from what my records indicate, you had Grimms Hollows: Deadtime Stories and Tormented Tales as the two house back there but also Never After and the Beaten Path as two scare zones in that area as well.

It was my understanding that Never After was located in the entrance/queue area for the Festhaus Park houses near Das Festhaus (much like Strangers Beware was in 2009). Anything outdoors back inside the bounds of Festhaus Park proper would be The Beaten Path I believe... Unless I have them entirely reversed...?

Anyone have any 2007/2008 HOS maps to share or any other media that could clear this up?

Ask and ye shall receive, my friend. I can help with all of that. Luckily, my 2004 and 2008 maps were easy to get to and scan. My scanner made them day-glow so I toned them down some. I had to really reduce the resolution/file size, too. Let me know if they are hard to see. I'll throw that 2009 official park map in too.

2004 - The kids had Aaron Radatz sign the map, but the HOS attractions can still be seen. Also, back in the day when the park folded the maps. Remember when "normal" shows performed through-out the day and HOS shows started in the evening? Interesting how the map show HOS locations, but not what that attraction is. You have to flip the map over to see which Hamlet has what house. Oh, and ahhh the day when you could see a show before noon. The 2pm+ shows they do now? We actually left on Sunday instead of go to the park as normal. The shows now start after it's time for us to drive home.

2008 - This one shows the Festhaus Park area @Zachary asked for. I would have to say with the shows killing it like Monster Stomp ReVamped and the quality of the houses, that this is consider our Golden HOS age. Just needed to substitute Jack's Nightmare Express for the tamed down Jack's Pumpkin Express. Pirates 4D was back and the only weak spot was the country show in New France. Curse of Pompeii opening at noon was SWEET, too.

2009 - I just threw this one in since it was handy and 2009 was mentioned. This is Strangers Beware and Harvest Hollow. I don't have the back since it is a park file. I'd have to go back to the map box if we need to. I also changed it from a PDF since some y'all had problem with those. We didn't care for a LOT of the changes this year. Starfright for the silent movies, Frankenrock, no train attraction at all. The beginning of the "end" as the InBev tragedy was announced and He-Whose-Name-Shall-Not-Be-Spoken bared his claws and began ripping the shows apart (Starfright GONE, Fiends to Frightnight then to Frankenrock, etc). This was our last year as pass-holders for quite a few years. We wanted to remember the park in it majesty and not as a shell after InBev gutted it.

We eventually came back when ParkFans started showing photos and news of improvement. So we gave it a try again. The pain of that gutting is still there, but we have made some great new friends. Friends that eventually became the only reason we renewed when deciding to give up on the park again a couple of years ago.

I squarely place the blame on all of you. ?

It is. I noticed some of the pig-man props in Unearthed. They have several warehouses full of props to store and chose what can be recycled.
