Now rumors are flying all over Twitter and Screamscape that The Bat might be next on the chopping block in Six Flags recent coaster massacre. Wtf is going on here!?

My hunch? They want to eliminate virtually any asset that generates significant annual cost to create more free cash flow and to have more space in some parks to invest in with rides that do not have significant annual cost.
Just y'all's friendly "worked for United/Disney/Universal type of guy" reminder: Theme parks are not the best business possible for long term growth of stock price. Absolutely ridiculous that we'd be seeing a survivor removed.
I'd be very upset. The Bat is one of my favorites in the park.
You and me both. The queue placement is absurd, but I never minded because of how great The Bat is. Arrow suspendeds are one of my favorite coaster models without question and I dread the day they’re gone.
Removing Bat before Iron Dragon is INSANE.
If I remember correctly, The Bat is far more intense. The wear on the ride might be greater. Sadly I think my kids will never get to experience this style of a ride. I am tempted to do a cedar fair (six flags) tour this upcoming summer, but my wife won't go for it :/
Yeah. I worry Iron Dragon may end up being the last suspended standing in the US just due to its forcelessness.
If The Bat is doomed, I hope it gets one last season and an announcement regarding its upcoming closure. It's a closure I'd probably make a trip for honestly.

I tried to google it and search here, but how does the Bat compare to the original BBW? I watched the POV and it looked way more intense..
Keep in mind that there was The Bat (original) and The Bat (new). The original was an insane prototype which died quickly due to its poor design and engineering. The new The Bat is a traditional Arrow Suspended. Nowhere near as intense as The Wolf was, but it is still VERY good. Puts the likes of Iron Dragon to shame.

I rode it in 2007. I think it was called flight deck or something. I have a hard time saying BBW was better... I think the Bats pacing was way better than BBW

I don't want to derail this thread at all, but what is currently the best arrow suspended? I've never ridden any of them. Is the Bat the most similar one to BBW?

Vortex is easily my favorite. Yes, it's the same layout as The Bat but it has a better scenic and it runs more aggressively.
Am I mistaken, or for some reason in this video did they not mount the camera on the car? You can see the car swinging, but the camera doesn't swing at all, it just follows the track. WHY?
^The camera is mounted on the car (looks like it's on the left seat/restraint), that's more than likely just the GoPro stabilization/auto-smooth software doing it's natural thing: ruining coaster POVs. I'm not a GoPro user so I'm genuinely not sure if you can disable that feature or not.
Nighthawk being confirmed today has me more worried about this. If it’s true, I’m glad I got out to KI at the beginning of the season and was able to show my brother how great these models are. He’s been on more coasters and gone to more parks than me, but Arrow suspendeds had just evaded him up to that point.
