Slingshot closing?

Slingshot has not operated at all since the park opened for the season, with no gondola installed at the ride.

Today, a crane was spotted from the parking lot appearing to show what may be the permanent removal of the ride.

Further evidence is that the ride is no longer listed on the park website (the page is still visible but it is not listed on any ride pages).

As the ride was listed on the 2022 park map and received a new coat of paint in the off-season, the removal decision would had to have been made recently.

Could they also be relocating either to a new location within the park, or to another park altogether?

Any chance it could be because it's a Funtime product and the Orlando incident was all over the news? Are there any other Cedar Fair parks operating slingshots right now?

I believe Carowinds and Cedar Point have Funtime Slingshots in operation.

Also, per a Facebook post this morning, the Slingshot towers are now entirely gone.

Not sure about other CF slingshots but they only closed the one operated by the Slingshot Group at Icon Park over the Free Fall incident. My cousins rode the one at Old Town Kissimmee a few weeks ago and my friend's kids rode the one in Myrtle Beach last month during their spring break.

Cedar Point's Slingshot is operating this year.

A key thing is Kings Island's Slingshot was one of the older models, older capsule, older towers, older spring load mechanism. It more than likely hit the end of its service life.
