I think this should be seen as a good thing. The park sits as a sad reminder of Hurricane Katrina to the residents of the New Orleans area.

The fact that there are two salvagable rides is wild to me though. I thought the only salvageable rides had already been removed by SF shortly after Katrina. Anyone have guesses what they could be? All of the flat rides were underwater for days during Katrina I thought, and no way any of the coasters get relocated.

Two salvageable buildings not rides.

"All the old rides are coming down, Henry said, along with most of the buildings. Two appear to be salvageable but plans could change."

The crazy part is both vekoma coasters still standing are surrounded by trees which I imagine helped mitigate the impacts a bit. And Vekoma would probably make the parts for those rides so it’s possible. Not likely, but possible.

The loss of MegaZephyr makes me the most sad. I had always hoped someone would map it to recreate it.
What’s interesting is apparently Jester and Mega Zeph were the 2 rides Jazzland was going to save. Mega Zeph really only needs new track and trains. The steel structure helped that ride a lot.
