Six Flags Fiesta Texas' park president, confirmed on Facebook that SFFT is removing the park's bumper cars to make room for future expansion.



Jeffrey Siebert has also been posting teasers with "#SFFT2023" for the last few days.

Could this be one of the two newly-confirmed-for-2023 Skyline Attractions P'Sghetti coaster sales?

Bumper cars are a classic ride; family friendly, and generally a crowd mover unless you’ve a smaller plot. (Dollywood’s Bumper Cars are too few, and the plot too small, whereas SFGrAm has plenty, and the track is plenty big..... KD’s would be great if not for that divider running across the middle of the track).

I’m a coaster guy; but flats provide a huge reprieve for families. Especially the tamer flats. Seems Parks have gotten away from them over the past few years.

How can an amusement park not have bumper cars? Very disappointing unless they are planning to put in new bumper cars.

I kinda like the divider and the attempt to control the traffic flow. It's different from most and to me, that uniqueness means it's worth riding more often than a cookie-cutter same-ol' bumper cars. I've sent plenty of folks into that divider while taking an aggressive turn-in to hit the apex

Plus you always get the person who doesn't understand why they're the only one going against the flow of traffic (and the direction of the arrows).

Most bumper cars have that divider, don't they? I don't mind it. Makes it a bit like a race course too and you can still get in good hits without head-on collisions.

I tend to find most I stumble across do not, but I do wonder what that ratio is.

To me bumper cars should be of a free-for-all, it's one of the only places where head-on collisions (among friends) is ok. If I wanted to race I'd go pay extra for go-karts.

I actually don't think I've ever seen bumper cars where there was not a "no head-on collisions" rule. I assume one exists without that rule, but I just haven't seen it myself.

Does Der Autobahn have that rule?

If it does it must be in fine print or something, never seen it enforced by staff or acknowledged by guests.

I’ve never seen the bumper cars at Busch; and I’ve visited several times throughout the years.

I don’t know if Knoebels has that warning or not but it’s never enforced when I’m there. Best bumper cars in the states.

Knoebel's cars are good, but I don't like the very small, cramped course. One side of the divider at KD might be almost as big, although I don't remember that exactly. BGW's is so slow I try to pick out a couple of better cars while watching. Of course all or most of them are adjustable, see Blumfield's account of how KD management used to turn it up all the way for private fun. I really like how 2 of the 3 kinds of cars at KD can go completely backwards, and the squeak of the pedals is the best anywhere.

I may be in the minority, but I dislike how the Aurora system looks. I think it makes the track look crowded. It's neat, but I don't believe it belongs on a coaster.

I’m just wondering how it’ll hold up over a few years use. Heck; I’m curious how it’ll hold up after a season’s use I’d imagine a customized lighting package would be pretty spectacular though.

I was curious about this myself, and if you're talking only in the Six Flags chain and only brand new coasters -- no relocations or RMC conversions or renaming/retheming -- Magic Mountain added Full Throttle in 2013 and Speedy Gonzales Hot Rod Racers in 2014.

Additionally, they showed off various other upgrades including:

• Third train for Iron Rattler is on order, "hopefully on its way to the USA in the next couple weeks". Will allow for full-time 2 train operations, one train rotating in maintenance.
• Boomerang is getting 2 new Vekoma trains with vest restraints, allowing for full-time operations by not having to close for 2 months for reqd. maintenance
• Wonder Woman will be getting new-generation Raptor trains like the ones found on Stunt Pilot, Jersey Devil, and Wonder Woman West, as well as updated control systems to improve reliability

Fiesta Texas has to be the best run, most spoiled, regional park in the country, right?
