I know we have a thread for the actual news but I thought it would be nice to talk about the concepts and stuff off of it without cluttering the news.

Concept 1 -
I posted this in the news thread but the new Cedar Fair/Six Flags drops the contract with DC for themed elements. In turn NBCUniversal/Comcast picks it up and sells the rights to Marvel in theme parks back to Disney allowing for some great future expansion for all 3 companies.

Concept 2 -
As part of the merger they just sell off some parks from the start. I would like to see some of the following:
Hershand - SFOG, SFDL, SFA, Michigan's Adventure
Merlin - SFGE, SFFC

And here's my curveball: SEAS or HERCO buys one of the mid-west parks of WOF or SFSL.

Concept 3 -
In a HUGE shake up they sell off the King's twins to someone like Hershand and Dorney/Michigan's Adventure to clear out to keep SFA to put more spacing in the NE between their parks. Then in the mid-west they sell parks to Merlin or another European based company. I could even see SEAS getting involved in buying at least one park in this case.

Concept 4 -
The Schlitterbon twins 'die' but have all the slides relocated. Some of the smaller parks (SFA, SFDL, WOF, MA) just get shuttered and their rides that can be salvaged are repurposed to other parks in the new system.

I really think I would like to see a blend of all of this.

  • Hershend buying the King's twins and Darien Lake.
  • SEAS buys WOF.
  • Merlin buys Dorney and MA.
  • Schlitterbon's close and slides are relocated.
  • The 1-2 other small parks they couldn't move get shuttered and rides are saved.
  • Even though we know the new company will be called Six Flags, I would like to see them do what a lot of tiered companies do, and "Six Flags over" named parks becomes the premier parks (Like Six Flags over Carowinds, Six Flags over Fiesta Texas, Six Flags over Knotts Berry Farms), and then "A Six Flags Park" becomes their value level parks (Like ValleyFair a Six Flags Park, ArchwayFair [my in head renaming of SFSL] a Six Flags Park).
  • When they restructure that, there's 4 pass levels:
    • A Six Flags Park Single Park - only gets you in your home park, discounts for other Six Flags Parks tickets at 25% off
    • A Six Flags Park "All the Parks" - gets you into all the Six Flags Parks, discounts to the Six Flags Over at 15% off
    • Six Flags Over My Hometown - only gets you in your home park, discounts on all Six Flags Parks tickets at 35% off, discounts on Six Flags Over parks at 25% off
    • Sex Flags Over Everything - gets you into all Six Flags Over and A Six Flags Park gates
  • This would stop the "cheating" of get a cheaper pass elsewhere (like ValleyFair) and use it to where you are close (SFGA) to bend the rules.
