Really depressing. Six Flags America's FrightFest has consistently offered experimental houses unlike anything I've encountered at parks elsewhere. It was never the best event, but it was a reliably interesting and creative one. I was really looking forward to the SFA entertainment team being able to give it one last go.

Nice, a free ticket to another park 3 and a half hours away that's already gone through some Fright Fest cost-cutting of its own.

Not that it makes any difference what I think, but if they're going to puff their chests about the merger, they should at least include KD as an option for the free ticket offer. I guess they want to try and handcuff anyone interested in The Haunt to a 2026 season pass?

Damn. I literally bought the all-park add-on ahead of my visit to SFA less than two weeks ago just so I could go to SFA’s Fright Fest. I was already feeling burned that the all-park was added as part of the gold pass renewal. Now I really feel ripped off.

Not that it matters to me, but it’s wild that they didn’t have the decency to offer a free ticket to SFGAdv or KD. If they actually cared about “making up” for a canceled event (like one free ticket to another park even comes close), why not even try to offer something that’s a lot closer for a lot of guests?

look, I know this is because six flags america is leaving but come on, after that sign in page for the actors this happened, why didn't they continue it like what happened with astroworld

This company is run by crooks. They use a disclaimer to sell season passes based on certain events and a schedule then they take it away after they sell the season passes.

It doesn’t matter if this park is closing or not. The fact is they have done this at multiple parks this year with little regards to the customer.

beware of these cheap season passes. They are selling for 2026. Because when things don’t work out financially, they’re going to cut a lot out of the parks next year

I had a feeling that SFA would cancel Frightfest, and in addition to cost cutting try to get the MD market to purchase KD season passes. Especially with the new sale it’s even enticing for people to buy a KD pass now and get this AND next year’s Haunt as a result. Definitely should have given that free ticket to KD though and not Great Adventure. They don’t want to cannibalize the KD incentive.

Let me be a devil’s advocate though and say maybe the free ticket to great adventure is because it is the closest park that has Frightfest. While in essence, Dorney and KD’s haunts are very similar in goal, maybe there will be more of a distinction between events. Great Adventure is further, but it will also have IP mazes once again, whereas KD most likely won’t.

Seemed to me the money making opportunity of FF was one the best reasons for keeping the park open, very strange.

Local haunts are probably rubbing their hands together right now. The nearby Cornstalkers was truly intense and no one else appeared to have left SFA 10 minutes early to go check it out.

What’s interesting is that even until just a few days ago, they still had listings for Fright Fest positions up for Scare Actors, so I’m wondering if they didn’t get enough staffing to justify it this year?
