Official description:

The Jungle X-pedition team made discoveries that changed history. But rumors have emerged that while excavating this site, the crew unearthed something sinister, and the jungle began to transform them. Venture into Site X to discover the horrors of the Jungle but listen closely as a luring whistle or rhythmic drum could spell your impending doom.

There were several roaming scare actor earlier that were doing a nice job. I have a really hard time figuring out where the scare zone actually is as most of the actors were well away from the show area.

The cast here was SO good—not at scaring, but at storytelling. If you just sorta milled around the area for a while, actors would come up to you and tell you bits and pieces of their story or have you do something that references the lore of the scarezone. It honestly feels a lot like what the BGW Terrortories were originally supposed to be—more interactive theater focused on piecemeal storytelling and placemaking than scares. Unique and SUPER cool in my opinion!

This is the stuff that makes me want to go to Haunt events -- despite not really being the biggest fan of Haunt events.

I popped into Halloween Haunt for a bit on my way home from Richmond (a circuitous route, but hey—Halloween.)

Site X was by far the standout of my jaunt around the park. I think the humidity in the air kept the fog dense, and combined with lighting and atmosphere—It really just created a sense of place, rather than a few locations for people to hide and pop out. Can't say enough positive things about it! ♥
