I wonder if this actually lends credence to those rumors from before about there being serious concerns about the state of the ground around Kumba/the back of the property...
If I understood the article correctly, there's a state geologist among other regulatory officials stationed at the park.
I'd presume any of their findings would be considered public data, though it's unclear if it wouldn't be FOIA hell to get them.

Very low excavation costs if they want to take the first drop below grade.
