Event Sidewalk Safari Nights - Pass Member Exclusive June 2014

A limited-time special event for Pass Members and Fun Card holders was just announced - Sidewalk Safari Nights!

Hoping the weather holds out this evening so I can head over for awhile to check out the first night. It has been rainy/stormy this morning, but clearing up a bit now.

Will be tweeting some from the event if I can make it tonight, and hope to return tomorrow with our photographer for a full review article.

Just a few short notes from this evening:

- Lots of animal ambassadors out in the Nairobi section of the park, and inside the Animal Care Center to be able to get up close and personal with, and animal care staff on hand to answer questions.

- The behind the scenes look at Iceploration was great - hosted by the very funny and personable Scott Swenson. Mostly set up as a Q & A with short presentations about each key part of the show - sit near the front if you want to ask questions.

- Crowds were light tonight because of the on and off storms, but if the weather is better for tomorrow and next weekend, I can see it being tough to get into the Iceploration or Burn the Floor behind the scenes shows.

- Ambrose Locke, the founder of Pantopia, and one other street character are out in Pantopia during the event. Wish they would bring back Chef Beau and the Aviator as well - all the time!

For this weekend, a preview of the Summer Nights fireworks will be shown (weather permitting) at 9:45 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Gwazi Park will be open, although the fireworks can be seen from other locations within the park.
