Shipwreck Falls has been removed from the SFA park map, in addition a sign has been placed mentioning the "evaluation of the future of the site." I won't necessarily go as far as the Reddit OP, but SF has removed a number of these attractions over the past decade.

Raptor! Raptor! Raptor!

In all seriousness though, good. It's a hideous eyesore and because of how the park has developed around it, it really disrupts the flow and path network in the area. Would love to see the whole guest flow around this portion of the park reevaluated.

Please Cedar Fair, help us.

I half expect Cedar Fair/Six Flags to start a "ride rotation" program again. There are coasters at some of the "big" parks that could/should be moved to some of the smaller parks to make way for bigger/better/newer attractions.

Which, IMO, is a mistake.

Again, my opinion, they would be much better served to (even though hated) continually do smaller cloned rides for the small parks with a bigger unique ride/experience every 5-6ish years. Not just coasters, but I'm talking flats, rethemed areas, and the like. Then the bigger parks should be getting something big and new every 2-3 years, with every 5-6 years they all just get the same smaller cloned thing across the board.

As for the topic in hand - Shipwreck Falls going away IMO would be no major loss. I know many people like these super splashes because they are people eaters, but really they only get lines on the absolute hottest of days. Otherwise they just soak you, and (again) IMO just make you miserable for the next hour or two while you walk around soaked head to toe.

Add in that I feel Shipwreck Falls is in a prime location for the park. If this were to go down, I kind of hope Macho Nacho and Aviator Grill go away too. I forget how far out the new Steam Town theme area goes, but this plot and going from the space from Roar to Rita's could make another small themed area. That plot left by SF/MN/AG would make a really nice open plot with 3-4 flats on it along with a nice theme element to be the centerpiece of the land.

Crazy as this may sound ,I think if Shipwreck Falls gets removed ,they should keep the pool area and convert it to a small-scale musical fountain.Basically like the Bellagio but a thousand times .smaller.
While I was never the biggest fan of Skull Mountain, I certainly found it more more unique and memorable than Apocalypse/Firebird. I'm kinda with you that they have the opportunity to replace this cookie-cutter shoot-the-chutes with something special. As to whether they would actually do so, well I don't know if I'd get my hopes up... 🙁

I wonder if this can be replace with a new water coaster vekoma proposing for the cedar fair parks (rmc raptor could work in gotham city in the old whistletown park area and it could be themed to Harley quinn)

A fence has been erected. Seems very unlikely that this is anything but a removal.

Probably getting ready to move it to KD be bring back Dimond Falls for the 50th.
I don't know, but some parks did reconstruct their shoot the chute rides in the past so I won't be surprised if they do something similar

I don't generally like ride removals, but I have never ridden one of these and never would, so if they are putting in something new that I would ride, then it's a big win. (to clarify this long after the post - I wouldn't ever ride it because I don't like getting soaked in street clothing).

It seems possible that parts from Aquaman Splashdown at Six Flags Mexico could be sent here and used to reopen the ride.

"It begins with the dismantling of some general elements of the area, such as gates, as well as roofs and other general components. The dismantling of the Aquaman Splashdown components will also be carried out and will be sent to another Park for installation and use.

This Stage is expected to require a total of one month of work (Month 1 of the Work Plan)."

Oh wow, that's a very juicy tidbit! Nice find @MaxxForceFan! Only other options with existing Hopkins Shoot the Chutes would be Canada's Wonderland and Valleyfair, right?

What happened to opening march 24th?!?! I went on march 24th and all water rides were down. I understand it was cold, but this is different. If you have don’t even have all the parts yet, why say it’s going to open? How was penguin blizzard river looking?

I guess the ride is easily to move now that six flags america is getting the axe (great adventure, if you seeing this, please get the shipwreck falls, im sure it would fit well between buccaneer & Jolly Roger)
