RE: Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster Details Come Out At D23

Fun fact: This is not an original Disney idea. The RCT3 community has been using DasMatze's swinging mine CTR for years now.

Yea yea. But functional IRL should be pretty fun.

As long as I don't see anything like the one's recreating VerboLten I shouldn't need a garbage can for "Vocal Choiring."

Sorry to revive an old thread but this coaster is coming right along! Definitely going to have to head down there to ride it! Here's a link to some pics! http://www.wdwmagic.com/attractions/fantasyland/news/20feb2013-photos---seven-dwarfs-mine-train-construction-update.htm

Gosh this has been forever, haven't the swinging mine cars been scraped in favor standard coaster trains?

Given the prototypes were shredding track left and right in Burbank I have heard there is a good chance of it. The exact guage used on Everest is being used here. Moreso, five years for kiddie coaster WHEWW!!!!!!!!!!!

I got to ride this yesterday, and it was decent. I waited in line for 75 min, it definitely wasn't worth the wait. It just seemed very short, I thought there would be more to it. What they had was neat, it just seemed incomplete. The queue line was my favorite part

It is very incomplete. It is ~40% shorter than the initial proposal and plan for the ride to save on costs. The makeup was done in the queue. Just like Mermaid the queue is worlds better than the ride itself. WDW is spending budget on queue where it is cheaper vs on ride itself. Partly because the expansion of FP into this FP+ nonsense inflating the standby lines to be so much longer than they would be otherwise. People gotta have a place to stand as a result, right?

Atlantis- I did not know they made it 40% shooter than initially planned. That's a shame, it has great potential. It was the smoothest ride I've ever been on, which was the only cool thing about the ride.

Tyrion- it is similar, except thunder mountain is 100x better. Seven dwarfs makes thunder mountain feel like a major thrill ride.

Not to mention that the track for SDMT has to cope with the weight shifting due to the trains, instead of just brunting the load of the train passing through like on BTM

I really enjoyed the ride and only waited about 10 minutes. It was incredibly smooth and the level of detail in the cave and the dwarves' house was great. I thought it would be longer based on the amount of time it took to construct but with a shortish wait time I felt I got my time's worth of enjoyment.

Quite honestly I watched the POV and was seriously underwhelmed... It looks awesome, but the ride itself look extremely lacking.

If the ride opened with the actual land instead of pushing the opening back, I would be less underwhelmed by it. From the POV, the coaster section looks fun, but the cars don't seem to swing as much as I expected. Dark ride section looks great too, but it's too short. If they added another coaster section and another dark ride section (or made the current section longer), it would be better.

Looking forward to giving this coaster a whirl! We are headed to WDW in the morning for seven days. I haven't been in twenty years. We have managed to keep it a secret from our Daughter for the last five months! We are doing MK three days, and the other parks once each. StOkeD!!!
