SWSA seems like the only park with no 2024 discussion as of yet. They are also the park in the chain that have gone longest without a coaster opening since Texas Stingray in 2020.

The park has continued to improve though, it could well be the only SEAS park that offers a better guests experience now than it did in the SEAS of old, purely because there was not enough to do and since 2015/2016 year over year the park has expanded its attraction offering.

So, just wondering if anyone's heard anything? My mind would go to a pipeline surf coaster by the lake or a new RMC if SEAS is going on a spending splurge with them.

At least they got a coaster promised for 2020 delivered in 2020, unlike every other park in the chain!

Also keep in mind that they got Tidal Surge this year and have Catapult Falls coming in 2023.

If I honestly had to guess, perhaps 2024 will be a smaller attraction? Maybe something where they may not even need to pull permits or do planning on until well into 2023?

what do you guys think of journey to Atlantis being removed in favor of a new coaster. Because with the opening of catapult falls the need for it doesn’t exist anymore, I also think it’s the worst ride at the park and is more an eyesore then anything else. Also the area directly behind it is the closed overflow parking lot. With this amount of room I feel a major roller coaster can go here

While I do agree that the ride is getting up there in age, just because catapult falls exists doesn’t mean JtA will get removed. See:
Islands of Adventure with Dudley Do Right’s Ripsaw Falls and Jurassic Park River Adventure. Dudley Do Right fills the flume slot and River Adventure fills the giant flume style ride gap.

At SWSA, JtA fills the “giant flume” gap and Catapult Falls will fill the flume gap. Plenty of parks have both of these in their parks. Having a variety of water attractions also appeals more on hot days where more people will want to ride them.

Additionally, a plethora of these parks also have a rapids style ride as well, and all 3 are usually operating simultaneously *cough cough BGW cough cough*

In terms of footprint and things to do, SWSA is a fairly small park. You could easily do everything in a few hours if you wanted to. They should be adding new rides to their collection, not replacing existing ones. Plus, SWSA has a handful of dead areas without any major attractions that could really benefit from a new ride.

I was at the park over the weekend, and saw that half of upclose was closed and that there were pretty large poles being installed. Does anyone know what they are doing there. Kinda looks like they might be putting cover over that half of up close.

A area is currently being cleared in between Steel Eel's entrance and the Currents gift shop. It will be interesting to see what it will be used for. It is close to a bar area and a restaurant so I don't think it will be another food or beverage location. Hopefully they will open a small flat ride along with Catapult Falls. Can someone please check to see if they pulled any permits?
