There better be narcotics references in this thing, or else I'm going to be dissapointed. I'll take alcohol issues with Scrooge, too, but drugs would be better. Just sayin'.

I guess now is a good time to leak all of this...

The Scrooge No More that guests will see today is not the Scrooge No More that was announced at Pass Member Appreciation Weekend. A little over a month ago the entire original show was scrapped because it was "too bad" to show to guests. The show that guests will see today is the result of a last minute complete rewrite. Everything I've heard says it will be a true Scottravaganza™.

I'm still placing my money on this:

Aaaaawwww, I guess there's no hope for narcotic references anymore. Just bedazzled crutches and sparkly night gowns.

I watched the show 2 times today. 1st show and last show. On a 1 star to 5 star rating system I give it a 7. I liked the show a lot, caught all the shows today. I'll put this one on top of the list just a nose ahead of Gloria.. My 2 cents worth..

I saw it one time... I liked it.... Except for the excessive laughing during the free spirit part. Otherwise great show!

I thoroughly enjoyed watching the show today.

Didn't enjoy watching it from second row. But loved it none the less. and in comparison to everything else the park gave us in shows, I'm just in shock. This was absolutely nothing I expected and was legitimately really good.

The worst part was the projections. There was the general blurriness from previous shows, but then with the Ghost of Christmas Present his mouth and nose were visibly. doubled and not lined up at all. It was amazingly awful.

But other than that, I loved it. 8/10 would recommend.

I was absolutely shocked by this production. I really, really enjoyed it. I went in thinking I would hate it, but was totally surprised.

I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't this. What I saw was a charming, well-paced telling of the original Dickens story, with songs added in to move the story along.(I think some of the songs may have been original, too?) In some places they actually took phrases verbatim, straight out of the story.

There wasn't too much emphasis on one element of the show (not too much singing, not too much dialogue). They used the projection and special effects to their advantage, and for the most part did not overuse them as London Rocks did.

What I liked most is that this show delivered exactly what it was meant to do, and didn't pretend to be something it wasn't. My biggest chagrin with London Rocks and even Monster Stomp was that they went overboard and flat out tried too hard. But Scrooge kept things simple and gave a quaint telling of the powerful Dickens classic, with musical drive. That's all it did, and I loved it.

I don't know if the last-minute overhaul of the show was the reason for its being so good and simple, or if someone knocked some sense into Scott's noggin. I hope this show is successful just to show Scott that you don't need buzzing seats, expensive puppets, and billions of flags to make a show good.

The simple, theme park-ified telling of a beloved tale is absolutely perfect for the Globe Theatre. I hope more shows at the park are done in this style, especially in the Globe.

Well done, BGW, well done.
