RUMOR: New Disney Development in Texas?

FWIW, some relatively reputable sources on WDWMagic have suggested that Disney may be planning some kind of entertainment development in Texas- perhaps, a "mini Disneyland"?

I'm not sure how much I trust this rumor, but with Universal building a kids-oriented park, it makes sense if executed properly...

They stated they were not interested in following Universal's lead with small parks, but who knows. Disney has started to become the follower of Universal more and more. After the failure of Disney Quest I don't see them having an appetite to try a regional concept again.

I went to a couple as a teen and IMO the issue with DQ was it was basically just a glorified arcade masquerading as something else. I feel like if they wanted to Disney could easily pull off boutique small kid focused FEC's.

That was a 100% Chapek thing that I dont think anyone wanted to be a part of, I cant foresee them doing that again.

I feel much like Celebration, about 2-3 years after its built and all the homes are sold to people its going to not be Disney managed.
