Howdy everybody! While lapping the second best invert at BGW with @Le Moose on opening night, we took note of the camera at the bottom of the first drop and how the bulb doesn't strobe like most other on-ride photos. That pretty quickly morphed into talking about how Alpengeist and Tempesto previously had photos available for guests to purchase of their ride. Obviously those elements have been disabled and photos are not being taken anymore. The final metamorphosis of this conversation between us became more of a desire to easily see what rides take photos (or videos, RIP Verbolten's on-ride video). After some searching we realized that there isn't a single source with this type of information available. There are random forums that answer this question for specific rides or parks, there are random posts on social media of people showing off their photos, and there are POVs that show trains or ride vehicles traversing a layout and a camera will randomly be to the side of the track for a split second. I did some googling and one of the few broader sources of media I could find about the topic is this. Personally, I think a continuously available and regularly updated forum is a great way to expand and store this kind of data.

My ask is for those who are interested in helping to please chime in with a ride at a park of their choosing, and whether or not it has an operating on-ride camera. For extra help please feel free to add some info about where the camera is on the ride's layout (POV video screenshots work well for this). If a ride no longer has a functioning camera, I'd like for that to be posted here as well. If we can make some rough guesses on when the camera became a lawn ornament that would be cool too. Conversely, rides like Nessie that probably didn't open with a camera but have one now are great to bring up. Please give a best guess as to when the camera probably first became available. Defunct rides might be tricky depending on the age of the ride. Basically, I wish for this to be the de facto source for this information. @Le Moose and I are going to be taking this information and creating a pretty basic spreadsheet on Google Sheets to keep things organized.

Just to get things started with BGW's currently operating rides:
Loch Ness Monster - after the second loop
Alpengeist - removed but before tunnel leading to the cobra roll
Apollo's Chariot - in the last valley before the final brakes
Griffon - in the valley of the first drop
Grover's Alpine Express - beginning of the helix after the first drop
Verbolten - before the final turn leading to the final brakes
Tempesto - removed but to the right of the launch track just outside the station
InvadR - in the valley of the first drop
Pantheon - in the valley after the top hat
DarKoaster - before the turn leading into the second launch of the first lap
Big Bad Wolf: The Wolf's Revenge - bottom of the first drop

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I know Velocicoaster has a camera, and that’s at the bottom of the dive loop. That’s all I can remember off the top of my head though

I’ll be providing answers for the following parks:
USF, IOA, UEU, SWO

USF:
-Rip Ride Rockit (bottom of the drop through the building on the left and onride video)
-Revenge of the Mummy (drop after mid ride showscene
-Gringotts (has one, can’t remember where but I believe either of the coaster sections)
-Trollercoaster (final helix on the right before you go under the top of the helix)

IOA:
-Hulk (after the turnaround entering the helix at the end, on the left as you enter helix)
-Velocicoaster (exit of the dive loop on the left)
-Hagrids (has TWO, only one is used. First (inactive) is at the end of the final launch, on the left, second one (active) is on the overbank after the last launch on the left)
-Pteranodon Flyers (no on ride photo)
-Flight of the Hippogriff (no onride photo)

Epic Universe:
-Stardust Racers (valley after the overbank before the switchback hill on the second half the ride, on the left of the left track and right of the right track)
-Minecart madness first drop before you rise up into the midcourse, to the right side)
-Curse of the Werewolf (no onride photo)
-Hiccup’s Wing Gliders (has onride photo, location unknown as I’ve yet to see it be used. I think it’s in the helix portion of the ride before the second launch)

SWO:
-Mako (bottom of the drop, right side)
-Ice Breaker (end of the swing launch, both sides of the train and photo taken twice, on the first and 3rd pass of the camera)
-Pipeline (exit of the corkscrew, right side)
-Super Grover’s Boxcar Derby (Left side, bottom of the drop)
-Manta (bottom of drop before pretzel loop, under the train)
-Penguin Trek (first launch, right side)
-JtA (drop, overhead)
-Kraken (no onride photo)

Six Flags Great Adventure:

Operating cameras:
- Superman Ultimate Flight (upon descent out of the second turn after pretzel loop)
- El Toro (bottom of second hill)
- Medusa (after corkscrew, prior to cobra roll)
- The Flash: Vertical Velocity (after Immelmann, when traveling forward)
- Nitro (bottom of first drop)
- Saw Mill Log Flume (pointed at the final drop near the end of the ride)
- Justice League: Battle For Metropolis (not available for sale, but shown alongside score when exiting ride)

Previously equipped with working cameras:
- Batman: The Ride (used to have a full ride recording)
- Dark Knight Coaster (in the second valley during consecutive drop sequence)

No longer in the park, but still worth mentioning: - Kingda Ka used to have two on-ride photos 🙁 (first upon reaching 128 MPH during launch and second after camelback when braking)

Damn, they actually have Medusa’s camera running again? It’s been a LONG time since I’ve seen the photo booth not boarded up.

Hiccup's is underneath the stands behind Dragon Racers Rally.
In addition:
Monsters Unchained is at the third Wolfman, the one above you.
Ministry of Magic is at the end after the trial, there's LITERALLY a photographer!

Can the OP maybe keep up with people’s answers and make one large post with edits of new cameras spots? Like a once a week update? Would be quite practical as opposed to scrolling through pages.

The Great Escape
Operating Cameras:
The Comet: Valley of the drop right before 2nd turnaround by station
The Bobcat: Drop before the double down. Also equipped with on-ride video.
Desperado Plunge: Final drop

Previously Equipped with working cameras:

Canyon Blaster: Right banked drop after first lift hill.

Six Flags New England
Operating Cameras:
Superman The Ride: First major drop after the turnaround.
Batman the Dark Knight: Coming out of the Immelmann
Wicked Cyclone: Right before the final zero G roll.

Does Gotham City Gauntlet have a camera?

Happy to, heading home now to make some responses. I've got the spreadsheet coming along nicely and I plan on making that accessible here.

Awesome idea with the spreadsheet!

My mistake on the Saw Mill Log Flume camera - it's actually closer to the beginning of the drop (I've edited my prior post to update the location). Here's a photo where you can see the camera pole in front of the Safari Off Road Adventure station:

It was surprisingly hard to find a Medusa POV with the camera (as @GASM points out, it had been removed for a while), and perhaps even more surprisingly, I couldn't find a picture in my personal collection where it wasn't obstructed by the surrounding trees! Amusingly enough, the short animated clip that accompanies a photo purchase is accurate with the location of the camera (image below). You can also get a glimpse of it as the flash goes off around the 0:56 mark in this fairly recent POV video.

I hope everyone had a fun and/or peaceful Memorial Day weekend. Sorry it has taken me longer than initially stated to get the link to the spreadsheet. I now have a very early version with a mostly logical design. Pretty much any ride that hasn't been talked about here will not be found on the spreadsheet (yet), but I will keep adding information as it is told to me or as I discover it on my own. I don't travel nearly as often as I'd like so that part might take a while.

A few things about the spreadsheet:

1) Information written in Italics is not really guaranteed to be accurate. This is a living document so as time goes on hopefully we see this become as close to 100% accurate as possible.

2) The current last column of information on the spreadsheet describes the screenname and website of the informant. If anyone does not wish to have their username shown, please feel free to say something here or Private Message myself or @Le Moose instead.

3) The document is "published" from Google Sheets and is accessible from the web as of now. Myself and @Le Moose are always taking advice when it comes to this entire project so if the good people of this forum wish for the document to only be found from the link here, we are more than happy to make that the only access point.

With all of that being said, here's the link to the project as it currently stands:
