News Removal of Nighthawk, Scream Weaver, and Drop Tower

Those look like regular utility markings. Red, since it's electric (there's even an electric box in the photo attached). All that says is that there's construction happening there.
Did a little bit of digging, if anyone is going to Carowinds, you can go to NC811 website and do a location based search, and see if there's an 811 ticket request. (Not all marking is done through 811 request, some are done by private request to utility locating companies, usually things owned by homeowners, HOAs, businesses, etc). Though, the marks look more like how a private locate is typically done so there may not be a utility locate request.

That ticket is almost certainly a match. I messaged one of the people who first spotted the markings on Twitter (@Car_DJ99) and got this:

'bout time, honestly. Axe it, open up some prime real estate right at the center of the park. But I'll believe it when I see it, not familiar with this guy's track record.
Hope it's nit true but honestly given the rarity of these models it wouldn't surprise me but they also did just rebuild the ride control system two years ago seems like an awful big experience to go through for two years.
I absolutely adore Nighthawk even with it's flaws. This will be just as sad as Ka for me if true.
The fact that Batwing hopefully will still exist not far away will save it from being as tragic as Ka for me.

To be honest, although I like Nighthawk, Batwing is better and probably won't be being removed any time soon. God I hope they replace with a Gertslauer Infinity.
If this extends Batwing's life by even a year, it's a sacrifice I'm happy to make. Batwing is definitely the best Flying Dutchman and it is far, far more integral to its park than Nighthawk is to Carowinds.
This removal was always inevitable and I'm sure it has long been on the horizon. The improvements to the park's layout that could (and should) result are significant and I look forward to those being realized in the years ahead if this rumor is true. I just hope the replacement timeline isn't too long.
Oh, and I hope they take Vortex with it.

I thought I read somewhere that when Firehawk closed they couldn't use the parts on Nighthawk or something. Hopefully they didn't throw out the Firehawk parts for Batwing's sake, then.
My understanding is they wanted to use the Firehawk trains on Nighthawk, but the original model that is Nighthawk isn’t quite compatible with the Firehawk trains. So I believe they’ve been using up the interchangeable parts from Firehawk but nothing else. If anything, ship em up to SFA so they can have more than one train on the damn thing for once.
Batwing was the first built of the three followed by Nighthawk if the trains were not interchangeable with Nighthawk I doubt they will interchangeable with Batwing. On the plus side last year at an event that I went to SFA mentioned that they had hired a former Vekoma engineer that had helped with the ride design and installation for their maintenance team to help maintain Batwing so they actually might be the better situated park to keep one around for a while.
Nighthawk was built first as a prototype. Batwing was the second with the double stations to help with the long loading process.
My bad I was looking at the Carowinds opening date and not taking into account it was moved.
