As we have mentioned previously, Kings Dominion invited us to tour the park before opening day.  I expect that we will see the Soak City construction, and hope to have a chance to chat with Chef Paul.

Zachary and I have been compiling a list of questions that we want to ask, while we are there.  We also would like to hear from y’all.  Please reply with any additional ideas.

Our thoughts so far:
1. When will Soak City be completed?
2. What other changes should we expect to see for the 40th Anniversary?
3. Can they give us any details about the two birthday events?
4. What does culinary have planned beyond the Spring Bloom Festival?
5. What menu changes will we see in the regular restaurants?  Will the same restaurants be there this season?

Why did the park decide to feature a moonshine made out of state, and for that matter from a state where Cedar Fair has no interest, Tennessee for the new BBQ. Some argue that the best legal 'shine in the country is produced here in VA. Climax Moonshine. Its origins are from Climax VA, up in the mountains, so a perfect match to the "Old VA" theme, and it is distilled and bottled down the road in Culpepper.

Don't get me wrong, 'Ole Smokey is fine, but it does not compare to Climax.

What took them so long to name a restaurant after me?

Okay, okay, end of jokes. Please ask them if they plan on doing any sort of announcements on Pass Holder Preview Day. I'd like to know if they're doing anything like BGW does.

Also, see if you can squeeze any details about White Water Canyon's sawmill update out of them.

Oh! And ask if the Rebel Yell exit change is really happening.

Thanks guys! Have fun on the tour!

I would also like to see if they could tell us in detail what the Saw Mill retheme for White Water Canyon will entail.

EDIT: Luke beat me to it. :p

EDIT

Has the park given any thought to bringing back any more popular features and rides that have been removed over the years.
1. Train
2. Gondolas
3. Backwards Roller Coaster (we know it can not be Rebel Yell, but perhaps purpose built)
4. Shuttle Loop Coaster

What if any are the plans for the additional land the park has on the other side of the tracks?

I not so sure the park is serving "moonshine" at the park. I think the park is happy to limit the ABC license to wine and beer (even if KD changes their ABC license to allow park wide alcohol consumption instead of in designated areas). This distillery has a whole slew of food products under "Food Pantry". Including 2 types of BBQ Sauce (tomato based & mustard based). I wonder if Chef Paul is featuring those sauces with the BBQ'ed meats.

Please ask them If water Chiller systems will be installed on the new slide complex. And ask if they plan to do anything about the very warm water that runs through the existing complexes that makes them slightly uncomfortable and anti-refreshing. Mainly the enclosed tube rides. The open air slides seem to be ok, its just the enclosed ones that become 'sauna like'... Thanks :)

If it's not obvious by the time you visit, ask them what the new Soak City entrance will look like. If it is obvious, take lots of pictures.

Soak City
1) Can you get more specifics/photos on changes to the existing slide refurbishments?
2) Are all existing slides getting resurfaced, or at least cleaned for 2015?
2) I think someone already asked about changes to the water park entrance; so, my question relates to the changes with the lazy river. Will you be able to enter/exit the attraction in multiple locations?

Carousel
1) Is the park continuing the restoration of the horses on the Carousel?
2) Are they looking to restore the carousel band organ for the rides 100th anniversary in 2017?

Someone already beat me to the continued mountain refurbishment and asphalt replacement with brick pavers. Can't think of anything else to ask; others have covered those questions.

Could they replace Snoopy with Pusheen?

When are they going to build a B&M specific for the park?

I can answer this for you.

"We are comfortable stating that another coaster is in Kings Dominion's future. The park is looking at all potential coaster designers, including B&M, for any endeavor of this sort".

"Thank you for your inquiry!"

P.S. Please add this to your tour info/photo list.

Photos of the new/expanded changing areas/bathrooms. Any new amenities related to the new/expanded/refurbished changing areas/bathrooms?

Another question concerning White Water Canyon's updated saw mill scene.

Is Garner-Holt Productions involved in this makeover? They are the folks that fabricated the new Singing Mushrooms for 2014. They also did the major overhaul of the animated scenes for Knotts Berry Farm's Timber Mountain Log Flume and the Calico Mine Ride.

I was wondering the exact same thing. One thing I was thinking, is that maybe they will bring some of Knott's old animatronics over? That would be a very cheap but effective solution.

Also, to the admins: Would it be possible to compile a list of all the questions in the OP? I think it would be good to have all the questions in one place.
