Hi everyone,

I am heading down to Busch Gardens Tampa and SeaWorld Orlando over Spring Break.  I received a Go Pro for Christmas and was thinking of using it.  The park website says the following (and I believe it says this for all SeaWorld Parks):

The following conditions must be met for the hands free cameras/camera
harnesses to be permitted:
 Must be secured by a 3 point or more harness, over the riders shoulders
and around the torso, that is snapped or buckled closed and cannot be
detached by bumping.
 The camera must be inside a case that snaps closed tightly and the case
is securely attached to the harness with a screw type pen or similar
device. Similarly, conditions are met if the camera alone can be directly
and securely attached to the harness with a screw type pen or similar
device.
 A Park Operations Manager must approve of the device before it is
used.

On the last point, does anyone have any experience with this?  Do you actually need to go get approval from someone at the park, or will the ride op allow it if it meets the above criteria?  If so, do you know where you have to go to get it cleared?

Thanks in advance for any help

I do, or at least I have knowledge of the process at BGW. Go to guest services upon arriving at the park and you'll receive a pass with a team members signature allowing you to use the approved equipment that day. In the process they pull on the front of the chest mount and the back to see if the harness is secure. I'll be visiting SWO on the 27th with a Go Pro and Chesty and I'll tell you how that goes. A few of my friends have used chest mounts at the Florida parks and were fine. Have fun!

OK, thanks!  We'll be hitting BGT on the 29th and SWO on the 31st.

I assume the Guest Services location at BGT is right inside the park gates somewhere?  That messes up the plan to head right to Cheetah Hunt, but oh well.

On my last visits to both BGT and SWO I saw a few people with GoPros strapped to their chests on some of the rides. It shouldn't be a problem down there once you get clearance to use them.

I've seen the websites for all the parks and it does say the same procedure, now as for actual experience you'll have to find that out on your own, but as long as you meet the requirements and cooperate with the park staff you should be fine.
