Keep in mind CF 4th quarter result comparisons over the last six years is going to be skewed. It won't be an accurate year to year comparison.
In 2015, Knott's was the only park open in November and December. Then Cedar Fair rolled out the Winterfest event to CGA in 2016; Kings Island, Worlds of Fun, and Carowinds in 2017; Kings Dominion in 2018; Canada's Wonderland in 2019.
Then you throw in COVID in 2020 where, I think, most parks did not have Haunt; some parks did a limited Winter Holiday event and other parks did nothing.
In 2021, most parks got back to a somewhat scaled down fall Haunt event and most had a regular Winterfest calendar. Except for Worlds of Fun who did not hold a Winterfest event. Not sure if that was just for 2021 or if it is permanent.
Good luck trying to get any meaningful comparison data between those years.
Could this mean coasters no other CF park has?Did anyone listen to Cedar Fair's 2022 Q4 conference/earnings call? From what people have said online, and I can't guarantee this is accurate, the company may be looking to continue adding capital to its five major parks while looping in some of their mid-lower tier parks by adding major attractions. I wonder if Kings Dominion is included with this (wouldn't be surprised) and what this could mean for Volcano's successor and future park investments (more so on the latter if the former is already being planned).
KD is definitely not one of the big-5 (CP, Knotts, CW, KI, Caro), if that's what you mean, but it's still a medium park, and would absolutely be included in the rotation after WOF and Dorney, so a 2025 addition could be in the works.Did anyone listen to Cedar Fair's 2022 Q4 conference/earnings call? It could, sure. It could also mean coasters that every other CF has.Could this mean coasters no other CF park has?

Despite the Article, KD is not one of their "Top 5". The Article I saw yesterday includes it, but it's an error - In the call they said Kings Island, not Kings Dominion. We've been relegated to "mid tier" ever since CF bought Paramount Parks and decided to favor Carrowinds instead.@themeparktribune posted the relevant quote in his article on the call:

It was cut because of extremely low attendance. I wouldn't really say it's indicative of chain-wide budget cuts.Did y’all see that they cut Forbidden Frontier at Cedar Point? I hope that this isn’t foreshadowing for further budget cuts along the chain. Odd that this wasn’t talked about at all during the call.
