A state representative in Ohio has proposed a bill that would regulate a standard that theme parks would have to meet on public disclosure of ride closers and down time

This is *not* a good thing!
How is it not? From what I understand the bill is about taking away the geofencing in the apps, and requiring them to keep the apps and website as up to date as possible on rides being open or closed. It’s not asking them to spill every detail on what is going on with the ride. I’m for this type of real time transparency the bill is promoting.

Oh, never-mind then, if that's all then I retract my response. Should have read all of it.

Sounded like they had to tell them why it was closed too. In that case, badddd idea.

The bill requires a maximum of 5 minutes from ride shutdown and the same when a reopens to notifying guests that seems pretty quick given the complexities of ride closers.

Hopefully I’m understanding it correctly, because I’m with you if they need to do much in terms of stating why it’s down it’s a bad idea. I would like to see a 3 tier system to this though - T for temporary meaning 1 day or less, E for extended meaning 1 week or less, M for major being over a week.

While on a level I agree, I would also say that it shouldn’t be hard to have a back end functionality that allows area supervisors the ability to just press a button and update that.
