It appears an engineering firm named Braun Intertec has requested utility locates so they can perform soil boring tests. Looks like it lines up with what was stated at Spring Thaw with a water park expansion in the next few years as well as eyeing 2026 for a coaster. The reason I suspect this is for a coaster in addition to the water park expansion is based on Dorney Park's PR rep stating it took over 18 months of prep work to completion for Iron Menace. This was stated in an El Toro Ryan interview on media day for Iron Menace. (at the 14:59 mark of his Iron Menace Media Day Video)

Time will tell!

Here's a link for the locate request.

Very, very nice find @Texasbuffalo! Soil testing is always a GREAT early indicator.

Anyone local able to go utility marking spotting to ID a more specific location?

I was able to get a look around today with my family so I didn’t get a ton of time to grab many pictures. I have one of the excavation equipment in the water park and one aerial of the “Dino” area. It’s the best I could do lol. I'll try to upload them when I'm near a computer.

I believe the soil bores are in the water park only, based on the locate responses.
The “Dino” area had a pile of dirt in it, which was addressed as not for 2025 at the spring thaw event. There was a lot of white lines near landscaping that needs to be repaired.

Finally, it looks like the current construction work is contained to just the water park for removal of raging rapids. This had a locate called in earlier this month.

I wonder if the mortgage the park took out could be in relation to that? It probably isn’t since $45mil is a lot, but it’s a thought.
