The Sun in Humelstown is reporting that an S&S Screamin' Swing is the new for 2025 project at HersheyPark.

Bigger thrill flats is definitely a bit of a hole in Hershey's offerings. This will fill that gap nicely.

I would love to see a Screamin' Swing at Hershey, but the source rn is very vague, like an enthusiast saw the construction signs and jumped to conclusions because they saw the word "swing".

Just an FYI:
The amphitheater is 13k sqft.
Most Screaming Swings I found occupy about 6k sqft.

Additionally that grading at the amphitheater is very steep.

It’s a local news source. Usually these are pretty reliable.

Here’s the article text too

“The Amphitheater at Hersheypark is in the process of being torn down, and now, we know what will be built in its place.

A source familiar with the situation has told The Sun that the music venue will be replaced by a Screamin’ Swing, which is manufactured by S&S Worldwide, the same company that made the Triple Towers.

The Screamin’ Swing has passenger capacities of 32 and 40 passengers per ride cycle and features a “small footprint, low maintenance cost and maximum thrill,” according to S&S Worldwide’s website.

However, for those park goers anxious to give the new ride a try, you’ll have to wait a while … the new ride isn’t expected to open until next season”

The area doesn't really need that. The entire Overlook complex is right next to it which has food, arcade, shop. The Amphitheater wasn't really accessible from the creek level. My statement was more that the level of that pad, if it is a Screamin' Swing, won't be all the way at the top, likely down, and they could fit 2 of them side by side if they really wanted to.

all I saying was that the creek level of the theater could house a shop or restaurant while the ride will be on the overlook & coal cracker level
You can’t just plop a ride on top of other buildings. There’s a million structural/safety reasons why this will never happen

Of course you can't just plop a ride on an existing, but you can most certainly design or modify a building to support a ride.

Maybe someone with more motivation than me will compile a list that ignored a million reasons. My favorite example is Thunder dolphin.🐬

It depends on how much they want to dig into the hillside and turn into a retaining wall. Spring Creek floods occasionally, so I could see this being up on a hill or platform like Liseberg's or BGW's. It would be a shame to lose that walkway next to the creek.

It's also very possible to add more things at the top of the hill. It would be nice to get another family flat up there, as it's a ghost town during Candylane...

Something else I thought of. They already have the S&S double shot towers there. That would get really noisy, and draw a lot of power in the same area consistently. Given the location there’s no good spot to “hide” all of that like Finnigans Flyer got.

The easiest place to hide the compressor, would be with Tripple towers compressors. It is not very far, about 400 feet going around the food court on the creek side. By comparison, Finnigan's Flyer is about 200 feet from its air compressors.
