Still not many details about what all Disney is doing with the ongoing Test Track renovation beyond drawing inspiration from World of Motion and demoing that hideous awning out front. Tonight we did learn it will debut at some point next year though! Hopefully there are more details soon.

Official announcement:

Definitely looks like an improvement, but it also feels a little all-over-the-place tonally? I think if the rumors of a projection tunnel over the outdoor portion had come true, it would have felt a lot more balanced?

Interesting sequence of old-school Epcot "we'll do great techno-things together in the future" vibe, hat-tip to Mr. Toad, fun with visual effects starring you!, cribbing of Universal's ET forest, and what-the-hell-why-not speedy finale. Earnest yet laid back patter and uncannily soothing, slightly inspirational music along the way.

I don't necessarily get how that's all supposed to work together within one attraction, but TT3 seems to be a deliberate throwback to the more classic Orlando sensibilities of yesteryear. That's fine with me. Why not.

Some of those sets look really impressive on video. I bet they'll look even better in person.

Hello all! More news—the song “Opening” from the Test Track 3.0 soundtrack has been nominated for a Grammy!

Test Track 3.0 is giving me old-school "EPCOT Center" vibes and I'm honestly here for it! Now if only the Imagination Pavilion and the old Wonders of Life Pavilion got the kind of love that Test Track got, then we'd be on to something.

Having experienced the new Test Track, I still prefer the original one, but this is miles better than 2.0. And with the score that 3.0 got, it makes it that much better.
