What a nonchalant way to announce a new attraction lol. Definitely a welcome addition though, especially with the impending closure of the penguin and shark encounters.
It’s definitely very small and practically unchanged from the one that closed in 2018 except for the displayed fish but it is significantly better than sitting abandoned like it was before.
Definitely seems like they decided very recently to open this... there's no decor and almost no signage. It's also worth noting that only the one little room at the front reopened; most of the former Aquarium de la Mer is sealed off. Still though, I'll take this over nothing, and I appreciate the person or team that probably pushed hard to persuade the park leadership to open it. The axolotls were the most popular part, in fact there was actually a 10-15 minute line which turned out to really be just for them. Overall I can see why this wasn't hyped up more in advance, but I'm also really glad to see the park continuing to reopen dead spaces and give us more animal exhibits. Hopefully the rest of this aquarium, along with the adjacent Tidal Twister space and the freshwater aquarium will be reimagined soon as well.
