News Project 2025: Lightning Falls & Cascade Replacement

hi guys, today im making a 2025 prediction for Dorney park, we all know that dorney park got a new roller coaster this season so, my guess that in 2025, we be seeing a new ride for this area, maybe to fit in with the new area theme, maybe a Zamperla disko themed to factory gears?, what's yours

Next year will probably be the return of the Monster, followed the year after by a replacement for the Speed Slides in Wildwater Kingdom. Considering the entertainment budget was cut to practically nothing to get a new coaster, I doubt there will be another substantial capital investment for a while. (If Iron Menace does not result in an attendance boom, that will be many years.) At least we did not have to loose Possessed to get Iron Menance.

I think with the merger all bets are off for next year. The combined company will most likely choose something that compliments what they choose for Great Adventure since they’ll be able to market both parks together with season passes. Now the only competition they have to worry about is Hershey, and we already know what they’re getting so neither park needs a BIG addition. I think Dorney gets waterpark improvements/upgrades next year.

For anyone who didn't see it, the tweet was just Dorney saying that the Lightning Falls and Cascade water slides were going to be closed this season and teasing a replacement in 2025.

Someone went out of order, after all, Cedar Point must go first. I am hearing the identical slides at Cedar Point Shores are currently in a state of dissasembly.

Was this an in-the-dark water slide? No light gets through? I really don't like those. I don't mind a short section of dark, but when most of the slide is in the dark I don't really have fun.

No, over half of Lighting Falls (the top two slides) are not enclosed, the enclosed sections did get dimmer, but were not blackout. The current blue paint scheme was only applied last year, before that the exterior of the slides were white.
Hopefully, with the changes for next year, capacity will be improved. The slides used to dispatch a rider on each slide once every twenty seconds or so, but a few years ago a new dispatch system was installed that the operators have to wait until the pool is clear below. Often lifeguards wouldn't even let riders sit down until their light turned green. This resulted in a ridership drop from up to 350 riders per hour to about 120. (Not counting the smaller Cascade slide in the middle.)

Wasn't mentioned in the big press release, so either a late announcement or this was pushed back.

Sign was still there as of last week. The splashdown pool is filled with water, as it recirculates water with Runaway River.

Lighting Falls and Cascade's sister ride at Cedar Point Shores has lost the two top slides. The tubes at the ride entrance suggests the middle slide is still in operating condition (plus the steps to the top is blocked after the center slide). No signage for anything new coming at Cedar Point Shores. No changes at Wild Water Kingdom, with the coming soon in 2025 signs at both Lighting Falls (top slides) and Cascade (middle slides) entrances.

Been hearing that Dorney is getting two water coasters, similar to what Kings Island is getting next year. Not a clone, but similar in size and scope. Heard other changes are coming to the water park and the Steel Yard will get some additional love (Possessed paint job, new snack stand, and flat ride).
