I don't know if there's already a thread for this, but apparently Magic Mountain is doing testing around Green Lantern's former location and the location of Tidal Wave. Additionally, they've posted what appears to be a teaser on their Instagram:

Hopefully Six Flags chills with Magic Mountain after this. They’ve gotten stuff that should’ve gone to other parks that need it more.
No, it’s not wrong. However, I do feel they’ve reached a point where they would be better off sending a few of them to other parks. Maybe this strategy is getting great returns, I don’t know, but think about what doing something like sending west coast racers to a park like SF America or St. Louis would doThe strategy for a flagship park isn't necessarily wrong, the issue is that Six Flags names every park Six Flags XYZ, implying they are all about equal when there are clear differences in different markets. It would be similar to having a McDonalds that served steak, prime hamburgers, and alcoholic drinks while still calling it McDonalds. Cedar Fair does this correctly by keeping different names for their parks so it's easier to tier the park to its market.
St Louis isn’t that big a metro and they basically have a monopoly in the area. Six Flags America is a strategic mess that needs a lot more than a single ride to fix. Magic Mountain is in a huge metro with a lot of competition. New rides and attractions are a must in that environment just to keep even, let alone grow. No, it’s not wrong. Yeah, I suppose you’re right, and obviously America needs much more than a new ride, but all their ongoing appearance and TLC work won’t get nearly the same results without a thrill ride to bring in crowds. A giant discovery is a step in the right direction, though. As for St. Louis, maybe I just have a soft spot for parks that deserve better than what they’ve got. That park has gotten the short end of the stick for YEARS, and they could greatly use a raptor or other signature standout coaster to boost attendance.St Louis isn’t that big a metro and they basically have a monopoly in the area. I think that the ride itself would be awesome for a park but from what I can tell Magic Mountain requires higher capacity rides. Even if this ride has 2 boats running it'll be a long, slow line.
I just want to go on record as saying this is approximately 637x better than a Mack Power Loop.
I honestly appreciate that they’re modifying the layout to fit the site instead of just plopping down a clone, building a halfassed new station, and calling it a day. This is more effort than I’d typically associate with the chain so good on them.
I agree, good on them, but they are reusing a station for this, and those are fairly simple layout modifications that are mainly the brake run and a turn before the lift.I just want to go on record as saying this is approximately 637x better than a Mack Power Loop.
