RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

I think it's way too early to be sharing. Anything shared right now will make its way to places it shouldn't. Land clearing hasn't even started yet. Jobs might be in jeopardy. Anything shared will become common knowledge way too quickly. Don't get me wrong I completely understand wanting to know. That being said, to my knowledge nothing conclusive has been shared.

I would hope that if the new attraction does indeed reuse the Drachen station that the plan is to expand the park into that area with a new hamlet or mini village.

I would want to see some sort of town/village facade wrap around the Verbolten show building to hide it from guest view since that area would now be a guest facing area. I think there is still plenty of space for that.

My understanding was originally when DF was built they had plans to put all sorts of things back there, hence the extensive walkways. Clearly they are still there. (duh zimmy we use them every year)

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

If this is real, this is still going to get people fired. It's especially stupid considering they show literally nothing of use. It is just useless leak porn.

There is a right way to do this, and this is not it.

RE: Project Madrid: New Hamlet? Giga Coaster? 315' Tower?

I think there is a misunderstanding about how leaks get people in trouble.

Whether or not the source is identified by name or position, he/she can be, and often is, very easy to trace.

When a document is distributed to a limited number of people, especially when it is hardcopy, it is obvious to everyone who is part of that group who could be the source of the leak.  The smaller the initial distribution, the more carefully the information needs to be protected, and the easier it is to find a leaker.

Just as this is not obvious to many people on this Forum, the leakers, themselves, may not realize the danger.

In this case, it is especially dangerous, because BGW has a history of taking legal action in response to leaks.

For me it is a clear moral issue.  My curiosity and interest in a discussion never outweighs the threat to another person.

Essentially, if the information could pinpoint the source, there is no possible excuse for publishing the information.

Edit: To be clear, there is currently no rule against posting the leaked documents. The Admins, however, agreed that we needed to express our concerns.

Agree with Zachary - this tells us nothing, other than somebody made some papers that have BG logos on them. Notice that one page says "2017 (something)" and the other says "2019 Attraction." Highly doubtful these are real. and if so, BG knows who has copies and there probably numbered for easy identification.

That...and after playing around with it the measurements seem a little.....off.

Didn't seem like there was a whole lot to play around with. What was off? I didn't even attempt to figure it out so I'm just curious.

From what I saw, it seemed to have a bold line, which I assume is track layout, in a straight line which lines up with the standing station infrastructure. Then it made a hard turn. If it's a real layout, it's possible this could be the launch track launching down the hill into the river or the return final brake coming up from the river. Either way, this could be a very impressive accelerator using the terrain, the woods and the water and definitely unique with a terrain section before the 315' tophat.

After briefly thinking up possibilities, from the Rhine's water level the tophat would be 355' above the water and would be about 104 mph over the water in order to make it to the top. A speed hill over water at over 100 mph sounds fantastic to me.

I was using the scales available in the lower corner, and something just seemed off. One set said 1'=60", then the next was a 40 foot and 80 foot measurement. Either way the distance using the train bridge and the width of the river opening something just seemed...off. Either the scale or the drawing was just a bit off there.

Something else I found a little strange: with how easy it is to create black out boxes, why use stuff lying around to block it off? And the Intamin name being pictured without being on something that also says Busch Gardens? Like....to me it's easy to take pictures of a few different things with different dates, and just the ride manufacturers name.

Just.....I dunno....not everything feels like it's adding up properly to me.

Sounds like a recipe for whiplash and blackouts to me. I think that would have to be one of the fastest speed hills in the world. It all depends on height and trims (which would require a second launch I would think.

Sounds awesome. You saw all of that from what was shown? I was under the impression most of the ride was covered. When I look at it I see a hard turn towards a river then it's covered. I have no reference to know if that's a train or the ride

I think it was the train. When I still had it open I was able to overlay with a google map and it looked close enough to be the train.

If it's not an accelerator what do you think it is? A B&M giga?

I dunno. Just the more and more I looked into those images things just don't 100% add up right. Think that Red Force in Spain is 367 feet, launches about 112 MPH. And that launches straight into the tophat. If it's true that the tophat for this ride is on the opposite side of the river as the station, just to cover the distance to the tophat and clear this could have to be going a whole lot faster.

The other thing: Intamin's accelerator's aren't the greatest in terms of reliability. Would BGW really be willing to go down that road? I feel like this park cares about reliability and having rides running and when they go down they get back up and running quickly.

And lastly with KD right up the road having a couple of it's own launched coasters, would BGW really want to start becoming like that?

I hope its not an Intamin. I rode Kinda Ka yesterday and didn't think too highly of it.

Have you ridden I305, TTD, or Maverick yet?

i305 and Maverick are not accelerators. I've already got an opinion on Intamin, but thanks though.
