there is a slight bend in the track at the part where it no longer has the spline supporting it. It bends so that the top of the track is roughly over the spline at its tip.

That's definitely not a design choice, you don't gain anything from having it bend that way. That being said, it doesn't really matter, and in no way compromises any structural integrity.

BTW have I mentioned how over time the Pantheon name gets worse and worse to me? Coaster names should be active. Not a place.

Yeah I've thought that from the beginning.

If the name is an inanimate object it should at least be a mobile object. Like Apollo's Chariot gives an image of racing a cart over sand.

A structure just sits there doing nothing and gives me no image of anything related to motion.

Pantheon is not inanimate haha. With the fairly extensive marketing I thought that was pretty clear. To each their own though.

Perhaps you’re thinking of the Parthenon 🏛
