ScreamScape is claiming that permits have been filed at SeaWorld San Antonio to install two new flat rides and a new interactive Turtle Habitat.

2019 - New Attractions - (8/23/18) Building permits were found detailing exactly what SeaWorld San Antonio has in store for 2019. According to the official documents the new expansion will include a new Turtle animal exhibit and two new flat rides: a Huss Airboat and Zamperla Midi-Discovery. SeaWorld San Diego already has a HUSS Airboat ride called Riptide Rescue (see the video below) and the Zamperla Midi-Discovery is a more compact version of their full scale spinning/swinging pendulum ride that holds 16 riders and swings them up about 50 feet in the air on each end. Both of these are good mid-level thrill rides, with the Airboat being a fun one that parents can ride with their smaller kids on, with the discovery serving as a good compact thriller and a stepping stone for tweens on the fence between kiddie rides and the park’s bigger coasters.

SeaWorld and Aquatica San Antonio Debut Exhilarating New Attractions For 2019

SeaWorld and Aquatica San Antonio "shelled out" all the exciting details about all the new attractions set to open in spring of 2019.

SeaWorld will unveil Turtle Reef, a fascinating new realm that will enable guests to get an up-close look at endangered sea turtles along with two new family rides, Riptide Rescue and Sea Swinger.

At Turtle Reef guests will come inches away from rescued sea turtles, along with hundreds of Caribbean fish, as they look into a 126,000 gallon coral reef-themed environment including a world-class biofiltration system. The thrills continue with Riptide Rescue, where guests will set out on their own sea turtle rescue mission aboard this classic spinner ride. Completing the realm is Sea Swinger, a pendulum ride that will swing guests 180 degrees in both directions.

I love how SW is adding the smallest version of the discovery model in the same year that SFFT is adding the LARGEST version. Not criticizing them just find that mildly amusing.

You can never have too many Zamperla Discovery flats. Those things are pretty intense.
