On Sunday, May 8, I was riding the train with Mom back in the handicap section. I had plenty of time to talk with the conductor. We discussed a possible train station that could be located near the Festhaus/Festhaus Park area. When riding the train, on the right side, starting looking down once you cross the Rhine River Bridge. You'll see a series of survey stakes that BG is using for testing stopping and starting locations for the trains. The conversation with the conductor is that they are in the testing phase to determin if the train can stop and then restart from various locations along the track after the Rhine River. We may not notice it, but the track is not level and they do have concerns over the uphill and downhill runs.

A railroad station in Germany would be great! I imagine the new attractions are going to increase Germany's population and considering there's a German themed train on the railroad; why not build a station there?

Thanks for the tip. It's long been claimed that it would be impossible for a train station to be built in that area because of the incline. Apparently Busch thinks otherwise.

Would it be too much work to just level out the tracks in that area and go from there? I mean, if your building a station, doeesnt the land have to be level?
Regardless, a new station for Germany would be great.

Or they are just finding out what we have been saying.

Just a thought about another stop along the way. only a small thing, With only one train running right now it takes about 20min to go round trip with the 3 station stops. With another stop along the way you will be looking at 25min round trips with one train. Only saying most people have a proble with waiting 10mins for the train when you increase the wait time will more people say hell with it i'll just walk.
I do think that a stop back in that area would be good and who knows it may be playing into another rumor that is at this site the Resort Hotel that they are talking maybe going back in that area.

Train green has smaller drive wheels than the others do. Fully loaded traveling up that hill it has been known to experience some wheel spin.

I like the idea of a station in germany, however there are several problems if a station is added hear
1: It would take a LOT longer for the trains to get around the park.(at least 30 some minutes)
2: There would be problems with stopping the train at the hill
3: as ScoutN said, there will be problems with the green train due to it's wheels
Also on another note, there will be somthing odd with a germany and new france station pretty much next to eachother, so if this station is added, the one in New france is either going to be under capacity, or not used as much as it is used now, so there is a good chance that station could be removed.
I do however like the idea, as it means a lot less of a walk to ride DarKastle, go to the FestHause, or ride the new 2012 coaster. So pretty much i like the idea, but it would be both hard and akward to add the new station.

The Caribou train station will never close if they added one in Oktoberfest because it gets a lot of traffic for Griffon, Alpengeist and the Smokehouse. There are main attractions anchored right by that stop. It's also used as the only boarding station for the Howl-O-Scream and Christmastown trains.

Caribou wouldnot be removed for this is the main maintenance shop for the trains and also the storage area for when they are not running. As for short distance between stations look at tweedside to festia, very short ride. As noted above the carbou station is not no longer the only loading point for CT or HOS. Still think this might have something to do with the thought of a new hotel at BG.
