So, I had a busy December and missed the original permit for this coming through. That said; electrical and plumbing sub permits posted today which triggered this being found.

From the permit it looks like a fairly expansive renovation.

What isn't clear is if the building will remain a pizza place or if it's being replaced with a new tenant. (The sub permits are labelled tenant upfit which correspond with other new tenants (i.e. grain and grill)). So what exactly is to come of the establishment remains to be seen.

I venture to guess that most of the renovation is upgraded kitchen equipment and door/window/interior wall is meant to improve service function from an employee standpoint. I'd love to be wrong, but I feel like the guest-facing experience will have minimal modifications, with new lights, maybe new paint, slight theme upgrades, but nothing of a huge scale. I'm not complaining about it by any means, as I know renovations to grain and grill, outpost, firehouse, Victoria's all received upgraded equipment and employee traffic flow that helps usability, and I'm glad that is being spread throughout the park. Could be interesting if it does change names, or food options though.

By the way, there is also similar permits filed for a chicken shack small reno, and a funnel cake small reno (unsure which one of the two it means though). I'd suspect all three are getting similar kitchen and facility upgrades. I'd love for chicken shack's to have been more involved though, now that Anaconda is on the way out. Could be a great opportunity for that area of the park. If nothing else, and even if Chicken Shack doesn't change much, I just hope they add an overlook of the lake with seating nearby.

I don't have the time to take pictures of the permits for those two buildings right now, but the first one was filed in November if I remember correctly. I'm glad the food and beverage options have been a been focus on the last several years at KD. There honestly isn't much left to renovate after this, apart from Jukebox and Dogwood grill. I hope those two get renovations alongside slight upgrades to their areas in the future, perhaps with a flat ride addition in Candy Apple Grove, or in Old Virginia.

Maybe It'll shift to a better quality personal pizza concept.
I like that idea! Since the Victoria's reno this year, I've been wondering how it could really differentiate itself from Victoria's, if it in fact stayed pizza. I'm curious how popular this place really gets, as I almost never see people eating in the outdoor tables next to it (and you'd think that would be a prime spot by the Eiffel Tower). Maybe I just walk by at the wrong time, and usually prefer Victoria's myself. The most foot traffic I see it get is during seasonal events like Carnival when it had specialty food only available there.

If this ended up not remaining pizza, what do you think it could be? Not saying it's likely to change, just curious what people's hopes would be.

It's much better pizza the Victoria's. Hand toss dough with a garlic olive oil sauce brushed on the crust. It's also been the choice location for all their seasonal pizza offerings. Really hope it stays pizza.

Good to know! I think I’ve only had pizza there like once or twice and didn’t notice a huge difference. I’ll have to give it another chance.

I did notice that seasonal pizzas for haunt and Winterfest were at Victoria’s also, even though the site/app advertised them as only being at pizza parlor, so I didn’t have a reason to go there I guess. Maybe I just lucked out on those nights.

They had aunt's pizza at Victoria's but I never saw Winterfest down there the few times I looked.
