RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

I wanna ask Scott about the Le Man's cars just rotting in the boneyard! And can anyone enlighten me about the August 23rd event?

While Scott does run arguably the most powerful department in the park(Entertainment). That would not be a question to ask him, as it is considered a ride. Try asking either Larry Giles(V.P. of Engineering) or Carl Lum(Park President). Most likely they would try to dodge the question. After the announcement, they usually are more willing to answer questions like that, because they don't have an entire audience. And of course, if they answer any of the questions, you can post their answers here.
Good luck!

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

Definitely going to be there... I'm excited for the Christmas Town news in particular as it's personally my favorite special event. The Q&A session should be interesting, and it's also nice to see exclusive dining options other than the Black Forest Picnic. And yeah, hopefully there will be at least a teaser for the 2014 plans.

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

So coming from approx 3 hrs away for this event on Saturday, what time should we be at the Festhaus? Not sure of what the lines to get in are like not having been able to attend one of these weekends yet. Just trying to plan our departure time. Don't want to leave crazy early to get to the park at opening time if not really necessary. Thanks for any and all advice in advance. Really hoping to make it down and do the Jack Hanna Luncheon for once since actually off work the Pass Member weekend this year. :D

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

Nothing like an super early morning road trip. All you need is a Sheetz run and A cooler full of Sugar Free Monster and Rockstar to keep you rolling. Thanks for the tip.

What is it going to take for the originator of these atrocities to get what HE deserves?

For those attending the announcement I suggest intense interrogation of the executives, maybe even some "boo"s if really necessary.

IF Scott and Carl have the guts to show. What can they really say to candy coat it at this point? I think they have clearly shown their pass member appreciation.

How awkward will it be if they only get questions about the state of things, what's going on with performers, and boos? ;)

I avoid this day and crowd like the plague. But, this would be one I'd come to just to vent my frustration and make my voice heard. Oh, wait. Passes expired. :(

Rather than being sad our passes have expired so we can't enjoy Howl-O-Scream, I'm sad because we can't come complain and riot in the streets about our low par year and this shows debacle!

How pitiful have things have gotten?

This, BGW, is how you reward loyal customers?

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

I am planning on attending the pass holder meeting just so I can witness how this thing is going to turn out. All I can imagine is angry pass holders. Time to get the popcorn out.

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

I am going in just enough time to catch the action in the festhouse..want to catch the drama in person!

I recall Rocks being just across the way at Der Marketplatz.:p

Anyway I'll be at the pass member meeting just so I can enjoy the semi-silence/semi-clapping/semi-booing when SG goes on stage. I'm still trying to decide if I'll boo, but I don't know just yet, but I'll probably end up booing.

BTW: Zachary, you should bring your camera so everybody who's not going, can see the drama for themselves.

All of this, combined with park management's decision to do away with the 50% discount on CT tickets for pass members this year and replace it with a $10 discount, should make for an interesting Q&A session at the pass member event next Saturday.
At this rate, it would be very brave of them to even have a Q&A...

I was thinking the exact same thing. I am really wondering how the pass member announcement event will play out or if any of "us" would even be allowed in.

If I were in the upper management, I would be terrified to step foot on the stage in front of people I knew were not happy. Even if 70% are just people wanting a free Ipad, you know there will be many friends of the entertainers, extreme park fans, families of entertainers, etc. I would guess that the remaining 30% will be "informed."

I am curious to see who actually steps on stage to handle the presentations. Will Scott address the crowd or will it be someone else for example?

Also, I wonder if since my face is known if I will somehow be refrained from entering the announcement under some made up technicality.

We shall see. For the record, I do not plan on going there to express my anger - I am genuinely curious at what they have to say. I may be insane to think that these announcements could restore my faith in the park's future... but I have to know for sure what will be said.

I pray it will be good news. Please let it offer some hope that something good will happen in the months ahead. My expectations are very low- so maybe my chances of being pleasantly surprised are greater.

A bump of what I said here and what Nora said in the MIU Canceled thread.

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

I am still hoping to make it down for this presentation. i am on board with what Nora said about having to hear what they have to say.

That being said I remember A movie I saw once for the life of me I can't remember what it was. But to cut to the chase, someone in power was speaking to a group of people I assume were employees. The group of employees had had enough of there work conditions etc. At the exact moment the head of whatever came to stage a coordinated group of people stood and turned there backs to the person whom had been treating them bad. I can play a scene like this out in my head for the Festhaus on the 7th. "Ladies and Gentlemen VP of Entertainment Scott Gasparich." Followed by silence and in my wishes several hundred people rising and turning there backs to him or any other executive brave enough to show their face. As a show of solidarity among true park fans as our response to all events as of late, not just the entertainment department shakeups, but the park as a whole as it stands.

I mean could they really force anyone out if it was a silent but meaningful protest. I know the answer is probably yes but it would maybe get a message across to someone who would pay attention. I am in no means suggesting someone risk there passmember status by doing this. I just wish there was a way someone could hear our concerns and address them, not as the GP but as a group of people who truly love this place and are concerned by "the declining level of what this place has become from what it once was."

I one time brought up the topic of "Declining Level Of Service" with one of my old department directors where I am still employed. It is not a popular topic with exec's but it needs to be addressed to someone who cares and will listen to us.

Just my thoughts.

RE: Pass Member Weekend 2013

What time does the park open Saturday. Website seems to indicate that it's a normal opening time but also that the presentation starts at 10 don't gate usually open at 10?
