It's ridiculous that SWSA is charging $37 dollars for parking and they can't even install security cameras around the parking lot. I'm not sure if there where security trucks driving around the parking lot during my recent visits to SWSA; but as the reviewer statated there is a need for more security staff around the parking lot if it is possible for someone to not get caught breaking into 3 different cars.

I can't defend the parks not having cameras in the parking lots, especially in this day and age, but your chance of being a victim of a crime of opportunity like this can markedly reduced by keeping your stuff out of sight and locked in the trunk. as it takes a thief a lot more time to get in there.

Meanwhile, don't even get me started on rental cars in Florida. Twenty or so years ago, rental cars in Florida had license plates that specifically identified rental cars as being such, and the state did away with them after numerous thefts and many complaints. Then just a few years ago, at the behest of the rental car companies that didn't want to bother applying the year sticker to their fleet vehicles every year, Florida rolled out a permanent "PM" year sticker specifically for fleet vehicles. So now it is once again easy for thiefs to identify cars to break into and/or steal with Florida tags.

Brilliance at its finest!

Not only are people's cars getting broken into and stolen; someone came back to their car to see that their tires where stolen. Since SWSA is changing $37 dollers for parking; the least they can do is have an adequate amount of security guards driving around the parking lot.

FWIW these types of crimes seem to be on the rise in general:

There’s been a few in the parking garages near where I work. The security guys the property manager hired have become too expensive so they reduced from 4 to 1. And a bunch of the cameras have been broken by vandals and parts to replace them are really backordered.
