I agree with Zachary here, nobody wants to listen to a bunch of people talking about the park looks.

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE RIDES BRO

THIS WOULD BE THE PEOPLES' PODCAST BRO.

Really though, there could always be voting on what people would want talked about. Obviously bigger news/rumors would be discussed, but I don't think anyone would have objections talking about anything related to the parks.

Having a podcast that spans a random 3 parks is an awful idea. It would have to be park-specific or industry-wide. Also, I'm totally not involved.

I woudlnt mind seasonal podcasts.Podcasts featruing specific seasonal events at the parks, but my main focus is BGW, as a hampton roads native, its my duty to stay well informed of my favorite park! Also, I vote Aye in favor of a general park podcast.

If it's going to be a podcast it should be about the industry at large and how BGW, BGT, or KD stack up to the other parks around the country. As long as this doesn't turn into "In the Loop" it should be able to garner some extra traffic, instead of driving them away.

This is how I see it: There are people who put on good amusement industry podcasts already. I hate competing with people who are doing a good job. Because that market already has competition, I think if someone wants to do a podcast, they should do a single-park podcast. Problem with that is, of course, is there enough content? I imagine there would be if it was kept to a monthly show.

From the BGWFans perspective, I think it may be neat but I don't have the time or desire to be involved. From the ParkFans perspective, I see no advantage for the network.

This is where you have the wrong thought process. This wouldn't be us competing against other with podcast, it'd be for those who don't get a chance to read the forums daily and would like an easier way to catch up, among other reasons.... I could care less what others in the industry are doing, nor do I care what they are covering. Most don't have the in depth conversations these forums have anyway.

Plus, who doesn't want to sit around drinking, shooting the shit about random park happenings?

Well, we could always do a ParkFans newscast, so to speak. Where we can go to the parks and report on happenings. I wanted to do this on youtube, but it never came through. basically a news show but all about theme parks and new rides/restaraunts/shows/etc.
We could have different people film different segments for each park and have tech crew, reporters, etc. It could be three sets of 5 people.1 for BGW, on for KD, one for BGT.Or, it could stay for certain parks. It would be a way to show whats happening other than just pictures and video clips. There could be a dining review, ride review, show review, and what not.

It's a great idea, but the logistics involved is incredible. We're an all volunteer operation... and we have issues coordinating things between the admins and park managers as it is. I think in order to pull off what you suggest, it would be a nightmare trying to find enough individuals who would be willing to volunteer AND be able to hit deadlines on a regular basis.

As for a podcast, if you rely on multiple individuals, you still run into the same potential pitfalls of one or more of them not being able to make deadlines. But I do think a podcast is a more realistic goal than a video series.

I think a podcast just on KD, BGW and BGT is probably a bad idea. While you might get some crossover of KD/BGW, BGT is so far geographically, I think there would be only minor interest between the two areas in who is going to listen. Will those listeners be willing to listen to the whole thing? Or skip to the parts they want? Seems like a wasted effort.

In my opinion, you'd be best off focusing on one park (I would assume it would be BGW), and throwing in a segment on other notable theme park news in the industry.

I don't think the site leadership has a desire to make an official PFN podcast. If someone wants to start an fan-made one "under the BGWFans umbrella" though, be my guest.

A podcast is basically a recording of people talking about a specific subject. It is released in a series of episodes essentially. For example, one episode will talk about a new ride or something, another will focus on the minor changes that we have recorded. You can get podcasts via iTunes, there are a lot of free ones, but sometimes you have to pay.

Personally, I think if someone has the time and effort to do a park-specific podcast, that sounds like the only simple solution. But I could honestly not care either way.

I know people who would love to do this, and we could definitely do it under the radar, or an officially unoffical thing. All I ask is that I get to review rides at BGW time to time XD. jk, i just think this would be an easy way for people to access more information , as not everyone knows what PFN is. Also, we could wrangle in more members that way, unless were trying to avoid too many people.

I'm assuming the more the merrier, but lets wait until a mod corrects us.

And what's PFN?

And see, a broadcast would be more useful as a visual than scrolling through the forums.
