Always an amazing show, but would love to know how this show is able to occur while the rides are all closed for lightning… You’d figure lightning+body of water = No show. But here I am, in a lightning storm, watching Orca Encounter.

I’m sure the last thing SeaWorld needs is for somebody to video the pool being struck by lightning during a performance. The ambassadors performing the show didn’t seem too comfortable being there either.

Hmm, mixed bag indeed.
The new San Diego-style signage and statues outside are a welcome update that adds some flair and a sleek, modern look. The set itself looks like a downgrade, even compared to the 15 year old Believe/One Ocean set that it semi-replaced. I just pray this stripped down generic look doesn't come to San Diego; losing the beautiful naturalistic rockwork, trees, and waterfalls for a wooden fence would be just as tragic as losing the wave entrance for a carport.

Clearly lower budget than San Diego, but at least in my opinion it's a much-needed step up from the decaying set that was in place until a few weeks ago.
I think my main issue with it is just that the backdrop doesn't block out the view of the backstage areas and roller coasters anymore. I'm guessing that was an intentional change, given the choice of see-through fence at the top, but considering an increasing portion of the show consists of pre-recorded video being shown on that screen, you'd ideally want as little visual distraction in that sightline as possible.

That said, I'm still glad to see the park investing some money into its animal presentations, especially Orca Encounter that has been neglected for so many years.

There was a bunch of scaffolding blocking off about 1/3 of the seating. Has that area been refreshed or changed?
