From Screamscape:

General Park News - (1/3/12) A quick update for you Android phone fans… Busch Gardens HAS launched the Android version of their official park app to the Android Market in late December. The app will use your GPS to guide you through the park, offer park details and tips to get the most out of your day, with route guides , show schedules and ride wait times. The app is also good for both the Tampa and Williamsburg locations
.

Finally!!! Busch has got an android app out!

It's been out for a little while now and it's awful. I thought the iOS version was bad, but man, they've really outdone themselves this time.

Once again, I am staying loyal to a BGWFans branded product. My brother uses the BGWFans Android and I am on BGWFans iOS app.

Parks just do not do apps good. Disney did decent with the Android App but it is still only decent. WDWMagic killed it with their apps.

I'm glad to hear this. I have plans to do alot more. Time allowing... it'll never match what Chris has, but I'm sure going to try to get close.
Also, I've gotten a few emails from people saying they've been using my app, downloaded the official app, and then deleted a few minutes later and will continue to use mine. The only thing the official app will be good for would be wait times, if they actually keep it accurate. Mine will get better the more users that use it.

I just can't get the official app to work. It crashes on me constantly. Never really gotten past square one really. Not sure if it's my device or the app, but either way it hasn't been very useful to me.

Using your Galaxy Tab? If so it would go half and half. The tab can display most apps just fine, but Samsung actually has design resources for developers to use so the app displays properly on that device.

Also, it works fine on my Thunderbolt(android 2.3), most of time time on my Acer Tablet(android 3.2), but very rarely on my Galaxy Nexus(android 4.0). It's just a very poorly done app all around. Again, I wont say mines any better, but for a company that had to PAY for the app to be made, along with giving the developers pretty much anything they could need, this is a very poor showing.

Yours is better. It works.
I love it:D and it let's me all the posts on my Android. I even use PDAnet for Android when I use my laptop.

The official app is just a lazy port of the iOS app which was crippled with bloat and lag. In addition, the app simply will not work on my Galaxy Nexus, or any other Android 4.0 device.

I think both apps are worthless. There is no wi-fi in the park so I have no chance of being able o use anything. It is like they are giving away free tickets in 2011 that can only be used in 1994. Practically worthless, unless they added wi-fi to the park.

Well the carriers have beefee up their networks in the area. I've got full 4g VZW coverage in the park. I do agree though, that in today's world they need wifi and its not very difficult to add.

Also, the official app is hit is hit or miss on every android device I have. It'll usually force close, then open up the next time I go to use it. Though it runs terribly slow and laggy for no reason. My app works fine even with GPU rendering on. The official app won't open at all. Its easy to see they just ported over the iOS app.

I think they're designed for phones with data.....

True, but still, if you are going to release something that uses wi-fi, then you should probably have wi-fi. After all that would make sense, what came first wi-fi or the app? Plus, I think wi-fi is much more easier to use and much more versatile. It is sorta like inventing the internet, but you haven't created the computer yet. You should probably have a computer to create the internet, just saying, it seems ridiculous to not have wi-fi, especially since it is so easy to set-up. Look at other place that offer free wi-fi hot spots. McDonald's, Star Bucks, Panera Bread. I am pretty sure if a simple restaurant can afford it, so can a theme park.

^They're all at Holiday World, silly!

No really Holiday World has free wifi. www.holidayworld.com/visit/rules-services#wifi

You hear that BGW, how come ity bity Holiday World can afford park wide wifi, but you can't? I know your out there! You're gonna make AoenOne cry.

In all seriousness though, BGW seems to be lagging in the high tech dept. Even KD has Dyson Airblades in their bathrooms.

*cough* *cough*

This has been bugging me for over a year. Anyone else like to see consistency? Compare the two...

The BGWFans App crashes on my Droid Bionic running Ice Cream Sandwich (very clean install of Android 4.0). Is this a known issue? I did submit the report as requested. I also tried it out on an iPad with better results. Do you think the forthcoming BIG update will jive better with my device?
