According to Ocean Breeze's website they will have trams to take guests to the park from the parking lot. This is a good thing IMO, that walk can be brutal in the hot sun!

RE: Ocean Breeze adding trams for 2013

Hmm that's Intresting. I see no need in that because by time you get to a pickup point at the end you could have just walked to the park. Plus that is already a very busy road. I cant imagine adding trams.I'm heading over this week to see if any stations are being built!

It needs it, nothing pissed me off more than working at the aquarium and not having any place to park because of that park.

RE: Ocean Breeze adding trams for 2013

The aquarium parking lot is blocked off by large construction cones and on the busiest days in the summer that parking lot is never more than half full. The aquarim is not an issue. However, the park does need more parking. Last year they converted the old batting cages into a makeshift parking lot. Most people drove right past it but If you know it's there you could get a super close parking spot ;)

This is a great step in this place acting like a big time park. Personally I feel like the trams are a nice solution to limited handicap parking.

Well these won't be like trams you see at BGW I'm sure. Something smaller. It would just drop off at the pull off already at the entrance and loop around to some location in the parking lot. Seems simple to me.

Flashy new site too. I've said it before and I'll say it again: WCUSA better watch out...

Agreed, though one thing they really need to add is a multi person raft ride similar to Aquazoid or Big daddy falls, There is no BIG ride there.

I've never been to Ocean Breeze on a super busy day. Do they get the crowds to justify such high capacity?

They're pretty much landlocked aren't they? I'm not sure if they own any more land than they do now.

I've waited upwards of 30-45 minutes for rides and i've never been on days like the 4th of July.

4th of July was a joke last year. Busy days are ok first thing in the morning or after 6. But anytime between then is bad. Also, I went last week and there were no trams. Don't know what's up.

Yeah Tram driver is still listed as a job though, but maybe its something different, so who knows. But I visit a lot since its only about 15 mins from my house, but usually its about 4-5 o clock at night after a day at the beach, so I never have issues with crowds.

Don't forget they're going to have free tubes and free sunscreen this year too.

And no matter how small it may be, that detail could really start to make OB a contender. It was beyond frustrating and a major pain in the butt going there with a group and not being able to ride together except on a few rides. And I wasn't the only one. You could see the disbelief on people's faces when they were asked to pay for the tube.

Free sunscreen isn't bad either. Lots of open space at OB, and the chairs in front of the wave pool aren't shaded like at WCUSA. I can name a few times I've gotten fried there.
