I have not had any luck this year as far as the weather goes.  We always go down for the holiday weekends.  So far this year it has rained for part of our trip Memorial day weekend.  Then again for July 4th weekend.  After that, a hurricane caused us to cancel labor day plans.  Now it is looking like we will cancel our trip this weekend because of hurricane Matthew.  I am really hoping this storm makes an easterly turn soon.

Would the park close pro-actively, or just wait and see how bad it actually gets? Is there a "policy" for an impending tropical storm? Personally, I hope it all just blows further east!!

My husband and I are going Friday. That day should be the best. I wouldn't cancel plans too early. The weather guessers have been known to be wrong quite a bit. It is still 4+ days away. That is a lot of time for forecasts to change, especially around here.

I don't know about policy but there is president. last year BGW and KD both closed when it looked like Hurricane Joaquin was going to hit us. It ended up staying out to sea but they were closed. It would not surprise me to see both close Friday Saturday.

They've closed the park many times before with the threat of a tropical storm or hurricane approaching. They usually make the call a day or two before a storm hits the area.

Latest forecast looks more like "never mind". Might be some showers Saturday, but not a major storm. Of course, subject to change!

Just got an email that the storm is heading away from the area. We may see some rain but nothing major :)
Keep in mind rain is enough to close Kornered and Lumberhac. Not sure about the new one.

Starting to look promising now. The good thing is I am not concerned with the night stuff since I will have young ones with me and I plan to leave before 6 each day. A little rain is not a big deal for us, just don't want hurricane force winds or flooding.

I just got back from SeaWorld. The park had less than a thousand people and it wasn't even raining(sprinkles here and there). I've never been to a park so empty.

i question why they even opened today, since it was only open until 2pm anyways, but i bet it was great for the people that went today, I even bet that if went on wild arctic you would have gotten the whole ride cabin to yourself :p
