I know there had been some talk of Nopuko getting work, but it's great to see it really happening!

This was, by far, the worst SLC I've ever ridden. Super curious to hear how some running rail replacement hopefully improves the experience this year!

I’ve somehow fully avoided SLCs up to this point, but I am glad that some parks are at least trying to improve theirs. I don’t know that we’ll ever see a fix as widely loved as Great Nor’Easter again, but these are some of the biggest attractions at the parks they tend to be in, and an attempt is better than nothing. Unless you’re T3, but at least they tried, even if they tried with blindfolds on.

Just curious, did you ride T3? That was my pick for worst and am wondering how that stacks up in your list

I didn't. I saw someone on Reddit who had both say Nopuko was worse, but I imagine they were worse in different ways? T3 has those KumbaK trains that everyone seems to despise while Nopuko had the (legitimately very good) new Vekoma vest trains. Nopuko just tracked so spectacularly poorly that it boggled my mind (both physically and metaphorically). There was a ton of lateral movement and jackhammering through the course but there was also an insane amount of front to back motion that I can't entirely explain. I got some of that on Riddler at SFNE too, but Nopuko was on an entirely different plane of existence. If you have felt that forward and back jolting movement that makes it difficult to keep your head forward or back on an SLC before, imagine that times 10. That was Nopuko in my experience. It was very, very bad. I didn't come off having my head pummeled by OSTRs or anything thanks to the train design and quality, but I did come off with a pretty notable headache regardless thanks to hitting my head against the headrest and the incessant jackhammering.

When compared to a below average SLC that still runs the original trains like, say, Kong, I probably find Kong to be more immediately painful than Nopuko. That said, if Nopuko was running the original trains, it legitimately tracks so incredibly badly that I think I would have come back to the station in tears. Guess it's up to you which you'd define as worse—the one with really bad trains that hits you in the head repeatedly or the one with really good trains that still manages to be unrideable.

Oh, and because I feel I have to do this whenever I talk about the only bad thing at Lost Island, Nopuko is the only bad thing at Lost Island. The park is a work of art. Please visit.

With this being the absolute worst part of any SLC I’ve done on, I’m so happy they are fixing this! This was a one and done for me but I may have to give it another chance!
