well, as you probably know, calfornia great america is closing, and not just that but the land is sold, but I been wondering, what if someone can buy the park and convert the park into...get ready for it...nickelodeon universe!, I mean, that park used to have a nickelodeon area, but what if they retheme the entire park to nickelodeon

ideas:
celebration plaza = nickelodeon plaza
all american corners = retroville from jimmy neutron
norcal country fair = nickelodeon's action zone
hometown square = nicktown
orleans place = new york city: home of the turtles
South Bay shores & planet snoopy = bikini bottom

My understanding is it was sold to a development company and that there are already plans in place to redevelop the area. On top that CF likely will move or sell the existing rides meaning any new park would be from the ground up. On top of that my understanding is that the parking situation is on of the main reason for the sell and that won't change with a new park.

On the proside of this the city has said the land is currently zoned only for a theme park and so far that hasn't been changed.

Sorry. For something more on-topic, would it be an interesting concept to move some rides from the Nickelodeon parks in some shopping malls to this park?

Nickelodeon has their own attraction design group, here: Experiences by Nickelodeon | Experience Nick's Theme Parks, Resorts, Live Events & More

It's mostly licensing. So they'd need to find someone else to invest in the funding and day-to-day operations of a park first.

I just thinking this idea sounds lazy, I felt like if the park had to be moved somewhere else in Santa Clara, the rides would possibly be moved to the new park, I mean, if elitch garden can move back in 1994, why not california great america

There's literally nowhere else in Santa Clara where they can buy land and build another park. The city is heavily populated and commercial real estate is crazy expensive in that area.

Not gonna happen.

The City of Oakland and Alameda County owned half the Coliseum with the A's. They sold their half to a real estate company called AASEG who plan to spend $5 billion to redevelop the area. They're now trying to buy the other half from the A's.
